Default engine coolant light

Does anyone know what would cause the engine coolant light to stay on. 2003 xj8 hard body. Car does not run hot and the fluid is topped off. Is there a sensor that needs to be reset. thanks

Is your car the aluminium X350, or the steel X308 ? 2003 was the changeover year, in fact, I don't think any X350s got to the US and Canada until 2004, but I may be wrong.

Post in the X308 if it's the steel car. However, if the coolant level is correct, it sounds like a duff level sensor in the header tank.

Hi holiday,

I have moved your thread from the forum for the X350 to the forum for the X308.

Cheers,

Don
