Default Engine restricted to 3000 rpm with red warning light?

Hi. Discovered a failure that causes my Engine to be restricted to 3000 rpm and a red warning light which is self-extinguishing after 30 min. Leaves the Engine restricted. Cut of by -fuel cut off?
I have no clue. Is there anyone with some idea?
Many Thanks in advance........

You need to have the codes read. An ordinary generic code reader may be sufficient. Then print the codes here and others will be able to help.

Default Problem fixed

Hi. My engine is fine again, after cleaning the Part-Load breather and renewing the Full-Load breather hose.Additionally a new Airfilter and the thing runs as it should. The bad idle is gone as well.
Have still the issue with the warning lights left.
They come on when the engine is started from cold and go out after a certain time(20 min.). I actually discovered today that, by opening the driver door the warning light comes on again every time the door switch is activated.
mh? Gonna run a OBD for the first time this weekend

Will see what it tells

Hi,
when the cleaning of the breathers and the air filter's replacement cured the problem, it's very likely that the error codes and warning messages remain, as the system doesn't delete them automatically when the issue is solved. Best way to tell if your actions did cure the issue is to read the codes, delete them, drive the car for a while and wait if any codes and/or messages will pop up again.
Fingers crossed!

If the warning lights come on it's not as simple as old codes.

Read the current ones.

Default Codes

Hi. I got this car a few weeks ago and by simply not doing a OBD scan I actually tried to fix the engine first by going through different procedures first simply mechanically first. The engine stalled a little, ran on various idle and was restricted to 3000 rpm, so I actually fixed vacuum issues first before reading the codes. I thought that's more unsketchy and more basic before getting scared by any codes. Old school somehow;-)
Tomorrow I will connect the OBD for the first time and we will see if anything pops up I wouldn't expect.
Iam actually a mechanic but in hydraulics but not cars.
So, the car actually made me getting interested in "doing it myself" So, everything you have experience of and by sharing it with me makes my horizon a little bigger! Appreciate it!!

It is a bit ... unusual approach ... but whatever to your liking .

This forum is plentiful of information, I learned the most by reading for hours and hours through posts, then asking in a particular thread if not sure.

Good luck!

A lot of cars are rev-limited when parked to 3000 (to avoid damage/internal overheat).

Hi,

just a friendly advice, no offense: It may be useful to stick to your "old" thread and post your codes there again, so that everybody can link the codes with your initial issues/symptoms.
Cheers, Alexander

Smile Codes Read

After a recommendation I´am gonna post this, here again.
Hi,
I did some diognostics on my car. I erased some codes, but a punch of these could not be erased. I got this car almost for free a few weeks ago and I´am really determent to find all failures and fix all issues on the the car, not for profit. Simply for the reason that it deserves it! ;-) . It should be as originally as possible again. That´s the plan. Parts will be changed in case they are not original, even if they are functional.
Í ordered allready a punch of things and the list unfortunately gets longer and longer as I digg more into it. So, enough basic information!

The Codes read:
C1155 Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit failure. -Might be a shortcut or the the sensor it self.......
B2322 B2326 B1234
U1135
These, where concerning me:
B2334 B2330 U1041 (Column Drive and SCP Vehicle Speed Sensor)
U1135 P0100 P2002?

Got some information about some of the codes already.
Very helpfull. but the Steering Column codes are a little suspicious do.

Thanks for sharing anything in case you have something to tell me about the codes.

/Roman

C1155 Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit failure. -Might be a shortcut or the the sensor it self.......
Before you throw parts on it, try cleaning the connection at the wheel speed sensor(s). They're prone to get dirty and will then loose connection. A thorough clean with contact cleaner is always a good idea.
Next step would be checking the wiring loom of the wheel speed sensors. As the sensors connect directly to the ABS module (which is located in the engine bay) it's easy the measure the connection between the ABS module and the left wheel's speed sensor connector. The wiring looms are sometimes reported to fail too.
It's definitely worth checking before buying new parts (even if they're not costly).
