Default First time post

Hello everyone, I live in Oklahoma and own a 2002 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas, 4.0L V8, that I purchased used 14 years ago. It had 10,000 miles when purchased and now has just over 61,000 miles. It is a great road car and I really appreciate the quality construction and design. Having decided to keep it long term, I have committed to connect with this forum to share and receive information that will help anticipate and repair problems. Please bear with me as I familiarize myself with the forum communication protocol.

Just checking in today. Second ever post. Have a detail person coming this week to touch up the interior on the 2002 Jag VP. Not much to do except touch up the drivers seat and order in new floor mats and reattach the third brake light on the rear seat deck. I would be interested in a source for good quality replacement floor mats. Stay well everyone.

Hello. Newcomer who hopes he is in the right forum this time. I live in Oklahoma and have a 2002 Jaguar XJ VP that I purchased 14 year ago and have decided to keep for the long term. Glad to find others that appreciate these cars.

Please ... you are posting in the wrong subforum. Your car is a 2002 model which is an X308; this subforum is for the X350/X358 model which didn't start until 2003 and which is a significantly different model.

The correct subforum for your model is https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj8-xjr-x308-27/

I get it. No worries - even the Username "Old school" tells a tale. You are not a forum guy by nature and trying to connect and get some tips for the XJ that has served you so well. You certainly kept the miles off it doing 51k miles over 14 years averaging 3642.85 miles a year (approximately)

As others have said, this is not the forum thread for your car. You want the one I am showing in this screen clip:

That forum thread will have members with the X308 (Jaguar internal designation) car and will be substantially more helpful since the forum you are in now is a completely different vehicle. You can cehck with one of the forum moderators to get your posts moved to the X308 thread. Good luck!

Hey! Looks like you got the right forum thread, after a bumpy start. This is indeed the right place. If you have any specific questions or need the opinions, experiences and advice of people with the same vehicle, this is the place to post them. Your car sounds really nice, well kept and exactly the kind of Jaguar that Jaguar fans look for. You should try and post some pics if you can.

Best regards and welcome!

EDIT: What the heck? I posted this in the X308 Forum when I saw Oldschool65 in there.. I thought. Now it looks like I'm posting in the wrong thread. This is apparently what happens when you point fingers. Or... there is the possibility that I have lost my mind. I wouldn't know how to tell. especially if the latter is true.

Welcome oldschool65......we have a bit of school work for you. ...as you see, some of our site smileys are a tad old, but functional.

First, please introduce yourself here for site rules and such (site requirement) takes all of a couple minutes.... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/

Next, we need to see this wonderful automobile called a Jaguar you possess and photos are required... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ictures-52060/

...and lastly, for ease of posting without posting all your info all the time. Simply go to the user CP, upper task bar on the left and add your vehicle info for any possible future inquiries so we know what we're dealing with.

If you have any questions from gatherings, where to find items for sale or how to fix something, just ask. Please prompt Joe Bonamassa in my Sig and enjoy the ride.

No, you're not loosing it ... I too saw the OP's third post when it was originally in the correct (X308) forum but the whole thread there has since vanished. It seems that it's been 'transported' back to 'Planet X350'.
