Default Help, steering wheel moves by itself and wont come out of Park! SOLVED!!

When starting the car, the steering wheel starts moving up and down and the car wont shift out of park. When the wheel finally stops moving everywhere, still wont come out of park and the tilt button doesnt work. If I hit my memory button I can get the wheel to the set position but the mirror goes all the way out. Anyone experience this?

Solved thanks to this post below, was the fuse!
Hard to believe one fuse can cause so much havoc on this car!

To temporarily get it out of park, remove the Torx screw from near the gear shifter ( top left ) and carefully insert a screwdriver blade down the hole to release the gear shift locking solenoid. It would be very dangerous to drive if the steering wheel is still playing up though. Proceed with caution.

As Sudd has eleuded to re the shift lock and re the wheel...I would suggest you do a re-set by removing neg lead from battery and touching the pos. lead for 20 seconds.
This will in effect resort the ECU systems to factory presets.
BTW....are you experiencing thes eproblems while having the wheel switch in the auto mode or normal positions?
What condition and how old is the battery?
You will need to go through all the main connections and especially earths....dissconect and give a good clean.
I would also remove the covers off the upper column and check the wiring for any obvious breaks or broken solder joints.
That will do for starters 'o)

Did the battery reset thing. And yes, does matter where that switch is turned, I have it set to off anyways. I came out of work, hopped in the car and started it and the tilt started moving on its own and it wouldnt come out of park. I did the interlock bypass to get it home. I got the wheel to stop moving by hitting my memory button on the door. If i try to move the tilt button now, nothing happens and my mirrors dont work either. Matter of fact, when I hit my memory button my drivers mirror goes all the way outward. Darn car, I had just got it running a couple weeks back when I had to replace the upper chain tensioners.

They should make a sticky out of this cause when I searched google, I found a lot of these questions with no solution. I had to dig around on here for 12 hours to find the answer.

I just put up a new post in the "Shifter locked in Park" thread.

"fuse# 7 (15 amp fuse) in the rear left hand fusebox controlled "Body processor module (battery supply for solenoids, lamps and motors)".
