You should never work on the electrical system without first disconnecting the battery. Try doing a hard reset: Remove negative cable from battery and touch to the positive post for a few seconds. Then reconnect and turn ignition key on and wait about a minute to allow the ECU to communicate with the other modules before starting.

This should be a sticky with bold capital letters. Second time I have read that somebody had problems after failing to do this. If the X308 is like my 97 XJ6 then the battery is easily accessible in the trunk. Some cars have them underneath a seat. We're lucky here.

Try with first manually positioning everything (seat, steering and the side mirror) as you like them to be and store the setting into Memory 1 on the drivers door switch console. Then (for comparison) make another different positioning of everything and store in Memory 2. Then press Memory 1 to see if everything will move to your first settings. After that, see if your automatic positioning works.

May just be conicidence cause seems like nothing you have done that would cause a failure. Failures happen and they can easily be coincidence at the time you did the repair. Try being a mechanic and talking to someone about this issue

Plenty of info on the operation and diagnosis of the memory systems.
I uploaded hundreds of TSBs to this site years ago. (that nobody reads)

Here are a few.

Decided to take door panel off and check everything again of course I broke two of the panel studs. I found the cause of all my problems!!! My 18 year old daughter had been driving my 02 while I was in Florida for a couple of weeks instead of the 2000 that I let her drive when she has problems with her Mini Cooper. anyway she took the 02 because the 2000 needed gas she had shut the auto function off on steering column which I never looked at as I always leave it on because she did not want to reprogram the seat so I would know she had driven it..
so I apologize for wasting your time. So moral of story is look at the obvious first which I did not do and save yourself a lot of grief thank you jrb53
