Hi Roy
Here is a photo of the back of the Instrument Cluster (old one we replaced with a used good one):

There are 4 large bulbs and 4 smaller bulbs. You need to turn the bulbs counter clockwize to remove them. I show 1 bulb turned counter clockwise in the photo (the large bulb in near center right part of the photo).

You just turn the bulbs and they release and come straight out.

I used needle nose pliers to remove the smaller bulbs.

Not sure this information is of any help, but this is what I found out:

The small bulbs are for the odometer and warning lights - Jaguar part# LJA4390AA Superceded by XR83865 (Osram part# 2351MFX6) 1.2w -- Looks like these part numbers are for the bulb holder & bulb?

I will bring my old instrument cluster into advance auto parts and ask them if they have a replacement for these bulbs.

Can the instrument cluster lighting be improved by switching large bulbs to LED? Here's a thread from the Alfa forum on how to make the dash brighter:

Brighter Instrument Lights – My Solution - Alfa Romeo Bulletin Board & Forums

Not that X308s have the same lighting issues (Alfa dashes are practically blacked out at night), but would be nice to get a crisper back lighting.

I've tested various led's with my IPK - the bulbs run 5V from Jaguar, so the effect of automotive 12V led's is a dimmer/ similar brightness - not brighter even with the dimmer rheostat turned right up. I think 5V led's would be nice to find but I'm about done with my whole interior in blue led conversion...the large are W5W and the smaller are the same push fit but I think are called T5 x4 of each as already mentioned.

The one warning light I've got missing is the side/marker light, I think it's a burnt out led, not a replacement bulb I didn't look when I had it apart to install my Realgauge...something I might address...

When you do get the cluster out, it is a good idea to remove and reinstall each bulb, even if it was OK before. I had to remove mine twice due to a dodgy electrical connection on bulbs.
