i have 98 jag xj8 it wont start fuses are good for fuel pump, injectors and i have spark and i just changed crank sensor when i turn it over it satrts for only 1-2 secs i could get it running when i put gas in the carb but it ran ruff i have good fuel presure and i am using 92 octane gas. i dont know where else to start looking please help

 

There is a fuel injector relay, but I'm not sure where it is on the XJ8. Someone should be along shortly with the location. You can swap it with another relay of the same color.

If you have a friend to help, do this.

Open the boot, remove the back panel (2 clips securing), this exposes the fuel tank. Someone can stand in the trunk and start kicking the tank. When the tank is being kicked, crank the car. If it starts for 2-3 seconds and then shuts off, you have a bad fuel pump.
