The sounder when you double lock isn't working on my car, I have changed the sounder itself but it made no difference.
I have all the Electrical Guide, including the 'missing' pages 13.3 and 13.4 that show either a Passive Security Sounder and an Active Security Sounder. Going only by the wiring and location behind the left headlamp, I have the Active type (I think), am I wrong in my assumption - should there be both?
Likely cause is a dodgy connector as the Fuses are fine. If I was certain which I have, I would try running some leads to check if that would make it work. It did beep the once using the Key Fob button twice, and when I double locked the door with the key, now it does nothing either way I try.
Does anyone know of something I could be missing? I guess for security purposes there's nothing in the Manual, as with the missing pages in the Electrical Guide? Fortunately I have the Electrical ones.

Did it work before?
Hi Addicted 2boost, sorry for the long delay getting back - enjoyed a nice holiday though lol.
Yes, it did work, then one day.. nothing!
I had a similar episode with the right (driver side here) where it wouldn't lock with the fob, but worked with the key, it turned out to be a cable coming through the door had broken, fixed that and it was fine. I wondered if it could be something to do with that but it checked out OK and still continues to work.
As said, there's a 2nd hand sounder fitted that apparently worked before it was taken off, but it doesn't work on mine?

There should be just one sounder, either Passive or Active ("Intelligent"). The p/n of the Intelligent is LNC2620AC and the Passive one is LNC2620BB (you should be able to see the number on the sticker, if still present).Originally Posted by euphonium01

Otherwise, the "Intelligent" sounder has a built-in rechargeable back-up battery and some electronics inside so it will sound if the car battery is disconnected. The Passive one is, I believe, just a siren.
Hi M Stojanovic, so many times you have helped me with various issues over the years, can I thank you (and quite a few others) for passing on the huge knowledge amongst all you people.
As to the sounder, I now believe I have the passive one following what you have said. I have disconnected the battery many times without an alarm going off and when the alarm worked perfectly well when double locking the car. Added to that, there has been the odd occasion when the baterry has been disconnected a while, and when I re-connect, the alarm has gone off.
If I understand it, and I do have a Passive Sounder, it comes down to a wiring fault pretty much, as all fuses look fine and test OK on a resistance test. I am working on the car over the weekend, I will take a look while the front underscreen is removed and report back.

The Intelligent sounder will sound if the car battery (or, I believe, if the sounder itself) is disconnected while the alarm is armed (theft attempt). To be sure which type you have, it is better that you look at the sticker, if still there.
Otherwise, I think that failures of the Intelligent sounders are more common because the in-build NiCd batteries often leak (after so many years) which damages the electronics. This is what happened to the sounder in my 1999 car so I just removed it (no trouble messages). The alarm still sounds using the car's horns so it is good enough for me and I also prefer not to have the beeps at lock/unlock.

My sounder died a death many years ago, so it was taken out completely. The indicators flash to show lock/unlock and that's more than enough for me. No other issues.
