Question for VDP Owners RE: Radio / Nav
Hello Fellow Gentlemen of the VDP:
Does anyone happen to have an instruction book for the 2001 radio/entertainment system?
Also, my car is missing the CD player from the trunk. (Need to replace.) But there is a nav button on the radio panel. Do the radios WITHOUT the nav system still have the nav button? I'm trying to find out if my car had nav at one time. Any way to tell when you don't have the CD player/changer in the trunk?
Thank you!

The radio is the same for both nav and non-nov cars and for premium and non-premium system.
They are quite a few different ways, here are 3:
1/ call/visit a dealer with your VIN
2/ on the ICE harness by where the CD was/is there is a green paper sticker with a part# in it. what the # ?
3/ The bracket that hold the NAV and the CD is NAV specific and require 2 rivnuts in the trunk floor. Do your car has those rivnuts?
Both of these are still available from the Jaguar redirected Topix site...but the radio-audio systems manual is in pieces...I put it together here...

Hi SirJag
I found a used 6 CD Player with Magazine (their part is 436323) on tomsforeign.com website. The price is $199.00 Plus $10 shipping to CA. They give you 6 month warantee. They are located in Waterbury CT. They also sell parts on Ebay. I think you get a better deal going to their own website, then calling them directly.
I went there this afternoon and bought an extra set of XJ8 Alloy 10 Triangle Slot wheels. They wanted $69.99 each. I offered $180 for the set of 4 wheels and they accepted my offer.
These used wheels are in excellent condition and looked like they were worth the $280 they were asking.
I am getting new all season tires next week and having them mounted these wheels.
I will keep our Michelin Ice tires on our existing wheels. This approach will save us money with the spring and winter tire changeovers. We will get our money back by the 3rd tire changeover.
This Tom's Foreign Parts has a gread reputation locally about selling high quality used parts.

If your car is missing the cd changer then it could also be missing the amplifier and the mounting brackets. The JTIS information describes it as "The CD Autochanger and the amplifier are mounted as a single unit in the driver side of the trunk". Look up item Ebay listing number 360349944544 . It shows the Autochanger, the amplifier and the mount as a single unit. The Ebayer is not selling the amplifier, only the Autochanger with the magazine.
