Radio Cutting Out..,?
My radio likes to cut out every so often. Doesn't matter what station it is on. It has done this ever since I got the car. It also happened in my X-Type when I had it, so I'm just starting to think it's a Jag thing. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what would be the cause?
What does the display say when it cuts out? I had an issue with the radio cutting out and displaying "Phone" on the display. This kept getting worse over six months and was solved by replacing the head unit with a used one.
No, there is no message that displays. It plays just fine and then randomly will be a blip of silence and then right back to playing. Happens pretty frequently. But like I said, my X-Type did the same exact thing and that had a different type of head unit altogether.
My Land Rover Discovery had a similar problem, and the mute button on the steering wheel was faulty. It was putting the radio into mute mode. I figured this out after fitting a new radio, and having the same problem.
Does ANYONE ever read the TSBs I (and others) uploaded to the large file area?????????????
Look at 415-07 Amended.
I seem to post this and other Radio issues several times a year.
Here they all are AGAIN.

Mine cuts out too, got progressively worse and now almost never works.
It ONLY happens on FM, not on AM or using another music source. I've checked the antenna connectors in the trunk, by the amp and behind the radio head in the dash, and have ran out of ideas how to fix...

Thanks, but I gave up on this and earlier this week i wired the car with an aux-in and Bluetooth over the CD input, so no need for fm
I looked in to my radio which had totally broken FM and AM input. Fm didn't find any stations and therefore nothing but static out from speakers. Navigation and deck and cd input worked ok. Turns out that blue jelly on top of the pcb caused one pin of the cpu to rust broke. Bought used one from Ebay and after quick test on the bench opened it up and same corrosion happening there but I was able to remove jelly and seal up the pcb.
For me it look's like these radios has nasty issue coming up in few years..
