Default Radio FUZZ

📻 FUZZ and distortion

Recently began to experience fuzz and distortion from my radio of my 2001 VDP. I saw someone reference that it could be a fuse or relay related to the subwoofer, but what do you think is the SOLUTION to my problem?? Thanks

My stereo would do this when a Bluetooth device was too close to the head unit. Do you have this problem all the time or only occasionally?

In the past, a lot of radio interference was caused by faulty ignition components.
A spark jumping outside of where it is shielded by the block will definitely cause
"fuzz" as the OP described. There are many points where electrical inference
could occur, however the ignition sequence is the highest probability.

To be sure what kind of sound you hear. Lower frequency hum is most likely bad ground so called ground level difference. If it is very high frequency it is usually broken amplifier or headunit. If the sound is mid frequency and increases with volume and especially with mid bass sound. then it is possibe speaker itself. Plus many other possibilities.

Ok guys, thanks for your input, may just be time to replace the unit and hopefully find a radio that is compatible with the 6 sisc changer, preferably.

It is our hope that solves the issue. Personally, I have never experienced
the issue that you describe, however motorcarman has and simply replaced it.
