Default Rear wheelarch repair panels

Could somebody confirm my thoughts as correct or not?

I have some corrosion on my rear L/H wheel arch. I will get it repaired but want to do it properly so I intend to cut out all of the old rust, and weld in a repair section. Only looking at about 4 cm but as with all rust it seems to go a bit further that it first looks...will do the welding and finishing myself, and get a bodyshop to paint for me.

Whilst I can look to fabricate a repair piece from steel sheet, I would rather get a repair panel and cut out the piece I need....But they seem hard to find.

Are the older X300 wheelarches identical to X308, as I think I have found one for an X300?

I've seen rear wheel arch repair panels for sale at: www.justjagsuk.com for £31.50 excluding VAT for the LH arch. It states that it can be used for the XJ40, X300 & X308 models so the rear wheel arches are the same on the X300 & X308.

Better than the crackle of rust flakes falling off the old metal

I know this is an old post, but I was a good lad and used the search function.

Does anyone know of a US supplier of x300/308 wheel arch repair panels?

CAP516RP - Rear wheel arch outer panel - right hand side.

This rear wheel arch outer panel will fit the Jaguar XJ40, X300, and X308 models.

Note; on the X300 and the X308 models you will need to cut off around 6 inches (150mm) of the rear section of the panel in order it will fit where the rear bumper (fender) meets the wheel arch.

The arch will not need this modification for the XJ40 models.

also applies to the LH CAP517RP - Rear wheel arch outer panel - left hand side

Thanks Jim!

I saw the notes on the UK site about trimming. Not looking forward to this project. So, it will be some time before I even start it. But, I'll have the parts on hand when it's time.
