supercharger belt size?
I decided to replace the drive belts on my 01 XJR today and am having some difficulties. The longermain accessory drive belt waseasy to get andthey found it by application so no problem.
The supercharger belt is a different story. It isa short 8 groove belt which is not listed by application in their catalogbut we measured it andthey sold me the closest one they could find which is a KO80510 (28mm x 1309mm) but it is a tad bit short. I do realize that I'd probably be better off going to the dealership but figure that aGates belt should be plenty good for my car especially considering the money I'll save.
Has anyone bought a Gates(or other aftermarket)belt for the supercharger and if so can you give me the number?
Thanks

Gates makes very good belts, but it has to be the right size..
Here is a link to an OEM belt.. I buy mine from him.. Supercharger Belt

Holy crap for $83 I would say it better be the right size. I think the dealer price is pretty close to that. I bought both of the Gates belt for less than $60 but of course one isn't right but am hoping I could find the correct Gates belt somewhere. I'll just keep looking.
Thanks for the response though.

OK now I have chased down the next two sizes up of Gates belts and will be test fitting them soon. I'll let ya'll know which one fits and you can be kissing my *** later once I have figured out how to save us half the money versus buying the OEM belts. D)
Aftermarket is what we do and we stock the belt in OE Jaguar only. No aftermarket. Cost $79.21. I also show updates on the pulleys as well.
My notes indicate the OE setup was grooved pulley on the tensioner and smooth on the idler. This has now been reversed.

I have given up finding an aftermarket belt so there will be no *** kissing in the immediate future.
The Gates belts that I have found are too long, for some reason there is about a two inch size increase between the available belts from Gatesand the belt I need falls right between that.
I ended up reusing the old one for now.

Eh i'd watch out for rockauto, ive bought 3 items now including a thermostat, that were not for the x308 but the earlier x300 xj6. I never even opened the stuff, found out a month later when they went to install. No refund on it, said a month was too long, not cool hah.
Has anyone tried a goodyear gatorback belt? The model numbers from autozone.com are
4080515 for the supercharger and its 49.99
4070923 im guessing for the drive belt and it is 32.99

I haven't looked at the goodyear belts yet but thanks for the tip.
I am surprised that Vatozone would have a listing for Jag supercharger belt in their catalog as most all of the somewhat higher up parts chains don't even have it in theirs. Next time I happen to roll by one I might just stop on in.

Well now it looks like Jag has figured out there is a problem with their supercharger belt setups and have come out with a kit that changes out the belt, tensioner and idler pulley. We will see how it does and report back.
Not sure how long this has been out but my parts guy finally told me about it, set me back around $300 so it better fix it. Hope the Jag don't sound like some welfare moms buick anymore.
