Default transmissions and fluid color

I bought a new to me 2003 XJR. The transmission fluid looks green! Alldata tells me it is supposed to be Shell ATF 3403 M115. It doesn't mention color (or colour for us up here in Canada).
Anyone have any knowledge on GREEN ATF?
Prior owner had it at the dealer with P1601 code TCM computer / memory fault. The dealer looked at the connections and couldn't find any faults. It shifts great, no lights on since I cleared them. Anyone have any prior P1601 transmission experience and / or problems?

Yes, that's why I mentioned it.

The Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic (also called 722.6 or NAG1 (WA580)) is used in the 4.0 SC X308.
Many car manufacturers used the gearbox, Mercedes, Chrysler, Jaguar etc.
I have always seen the appropriate fluid color as RED.

Maybe someone used a fluid that meets the proper specs but is green??
IDK

Hmmm... I went to the Pentosin website:

http://www.pentosin.net/specsheets/Pentosin_ATF1.pdf

It describes it as amber and clear

Pentosin - Transmission Fluid

My previous XJR had red.

Regardless, I’m going to service it sooner than later.
If anyone else has green transmission fluid in their XJ, I’d love to hear from you!!!

Sounds like Castrol Transmax Z ATF is green.
I answered my own question!
still like to hear from others who have used this and can verify it’s color or colour!

If I am not mistaken this box uses typical ATF4? Which should typically be red?

I know others use "gold" coloured ZF fluid, but does anyone other than ZF use gold?
EDIT:
TransMax may be green in colour (no confirmation). Apparently CVT fluid is GEEN in hue. Trans could have mistakenly been filled with CVT Fluid.

Personally if it were me, I'd drain, get a new filter and replace with new fluid that you know what it is.

Just curious, how did you find out it is green? There is no dip stick? Did you get one or did you open up the tranny?

True that there is no dipstick supplied with the car but it is available as a 'tool' to check the level.
This is a MERCEDES gearbox we are discussing, NOT the ZF 5HP24.

I have a ‘universal’ dipstick I bought online for cars that don’t have a dipstick.
I have seen CVT fluid which is kind of green.
I hope that someone on here has opened a bottle of the Castrol transmax Z and can verify its colour! I will change it sooner than later.
