Default Troubleshooting T605 Install

I've scoured just about every thread on bluetooth installs I could find in this forum. I'm using the Jim Roal bible, and I cannot seem to get my T605 powered up. I followed the wiring diagram verbatim, and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Has anyone else run into this, or am I just the town idiot today?

Let me know if you have any pointers. Thanks!

Do you have a multimeter? Can you check for 12 volts and ground as a start?

Doesn't it do anything at all? No lights?

I took a gander at Jim Roal's document, and although the wires are correct, the location of the fuses is different from what he specifies on a 2001.

For your car, make sure you have a good 5 Amp fuse in position #4 in the TRUNK fusebox and a good 5 amp fuse in position #22 of the TRUNK fusebox.

If not, add those fuses.

To avt007: no lights whatsoever...

To WhiteXKR: I was working on the Bimmer part out today. I may have some time tomorrow to verify those fuses, and get a multimeter on the lines to see what's going on.

Thanks for the feedback, guys...I'll keep plugging away!

I get so much value out of a multimeter it's amazing and one doesn't have to spend a lot of money on it either...I bought something like this one (actually I bought 2, one for the house and one to keep in the garage).......A quick search on ebay for example provides lots of products - IMHO spending a lot on one is unnecessary for DIY auto electrics, but the benefits......

DIGITAL LCD VOLTMETER MULTIMETER CIRCUIT TESTER AMMETER AC DC METER OHM | eBay

Default All good now!

WhiteXKR gets the door prize...#22 fuse was blown in the trunk. She's installed and functional, but I do plan to redo the wiring, relocate the mic, and clean it up a bit. I'll hack the CD changer next with a switchable input, and then I should be good to go!

Thanks for the assist, everyone!
