What did you do to your X308 Today?

Goes in for paint tomm. @ 1:30 pm EST in the down time I'm researching local options to restore the bolster on my seats & wood panels. There's a highly touted guy whom does yacht interiors, I keep getting his name via word of mouth when I ask people so I will be contacting him. Would be awesome to get all the wood out & restored as it's already down for paint.

Tried to run it through the car wash,(I know I'm lazy and I had a full day getting ready for our British and European car Show tomorrow).
Brushes got to the back of the car and stopped, attendant reset the car wash and the same thing happened. third time I went with the no touch and it went well.
Other than that I filled the tank with 98 octane ($150.00nz) it was nearly empty.

My OEM style Ruby Red wheels center caps arrived today.
The car came originally from Coventry with the OEM Silver Grey wheel centers, and I changed them for some cheapo aftermarket red ones, but was never really satisfied with them. Today I changed them for the OEM style Ruby Red ones from Welshes Jag Parts.

There was nothing wrong with the original silver centers, but I thought red centers would look better on a red car, and like you anduha, I was never really satisfied with the aftermarket items, they are good value for money, but lack the classy look of the OEM style. I went cheap because initially i couldn't bring myself to pay for the overpriced OEM style, but it's false economy and I had to succumb in the end, especially when Welshes has a good deal on the OEM styles.
I am really pleased with the new red centers, I think they give a really nice finishing touch.

Did a bunch of little things I had been putting off for a while... Replaced the driver's door gasketing, got rid of some sticker goo which had been bugging me since I'd gotten the car, resolved a creak with the sunroof (for now). Naturally all the other creaks/rattles seemed louder once I did that.
Also finally tried swapping the left/right front tires to see if it would affect the pulling to the left issue I have had for YEARS now, and what do you know... It started to pull right instead. Really wish I had done this forever ago... At least now when I try to warranty the tires, I can confidently say the suspension wear parts are sound, if the shop/manufacturer put up a fuss. Plus it greatly restored my faith in this car, I was worried the cause of the pulling was going to be due to something like a bent chassis.
I was going to put some chassis ears on my car to try and trace the 55mph howling, but of course on the run with the swapped tires, the noise didn't appear at all. It was getting late anyway, so I put that off for another day. On the drive to get food (with the tires back to their original places) the noise showed up again. Figures.
After all that, I ordered up some door clips and bushes to replace the worn ones in the driver door, and a torque stick. Will be nice to be able to just run the lugs down without spending the effort to go over them several times by hand.

Even then, I should make a template to see how it fits in the cutouts, it should be a pity if you have to cut in your bumper.
I have these saved in my eBay for a long time, but seems they are sold out.

They don't give accurate visual measurements, just 2" inlet, 3" outlet and 9.3" length. I'm not sure if they mean both outlets are 3" each, in which case they would be too wide, or if they mean the total swept area of the two outlets is 3".
#3530
That surely is 2x 3", plus a bit in between the outlets.
You made me check for my XK8 this afternoon, there are some on eBay with smaller outlet, can share some links from my laptop tomorrow.
But I just measured the XK8 pipe, it is 54mm which is larger than 2" I think.
Be careful as I suspect the same diameter counts for the XJ8.
Also, a quad needs more space, on the XK8 there is a nasty bend limiting the tip body length, forgot about the XJ8 though

Maybe you should start a new thread and move some of these posts over ...
Now you also need to consider to have them slanted and maybe staggered to distinguish them from any cheap after market made-in-china item ...
There is a bit more info on the XK8 (X100) forum, even Jaguar themselves moved to quads for the last model year.
Below are some pictures of cars fitted with quads, mostly how not to do it I presume ...
I have more, but don't want to clog this tread with them.

Yes, we are getting a little "off subject" on this thread as we are not actually "doing anything to our X308" and it seems that to find some appropriate duals that will fit and look good is not going to be that easy.
So I'll abstain until I find out more, and if/when so, start a separate thread then.

I found some very reasonably priced exhaust tips on eBay, $16.95 the pair, no tax, free shipping. Similar appearance to stock, 2" inlet but larger 3 1/2 oval outlet.
Slipped right on (I replaced the long phillips retaining screws with short allen screws, and also sprayed the insides black) and I really like them over the stock items..
The photos don't show the difference in size to their true effect, in person they look decidedly larger than the stock ones.
