Default X308 BPM Removal

Help. How is the best way of removing Body Control Module in my 1998 Jaguar XJ8? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center to X308 forum. The Advice / Feedback is for posts about the forum and not for technical questions.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

glove box out, then four fasteners and assorted connectors.

highly doubtful that the BCM needs to come out as they are not usually a source of trouble.

]It is the BPM[. We were able to get to it (removed glove box) and plug in the new (used) one. Everything lit up like a Christmas Tree. What we need to know how is the best way to remove the old one and replace. Last I read someone said remove the three bolts that is holding it and push it up and out. That is not working. We are blocked each way we go.

nuts not bolts, so you probably have to lift it clear of the studs

Default Bpm

Question is - BMP unmounted. What else should be removed or unmounted to get it out of the car?

We are just two females wondering if we just slam dunk it down and out? We are beginning to think that whoever designed this car was on some serious drugs! LOL

A *good* picture would be helpful at this point.

I don't remember any difficulty with access and I was up in there with both hands, a soldering gun and wires making modifications to circuitry.
