1999 XJ8 L intermittently getting stability control/failsafe mode. Happening at low speed, usually after a no problems 1st drive of the day. Has been going away after shutting down and restarting. It has now gotten worse and is immediately happening upon start up. Took to mechanic and no codes are being shown. Battery is good. I've read just about every thread I could find on the subject and there seems to be alot of theories. Was just wondering if the fact that is now happening upon start up means anything?

 

There are DTCs, maybe NOT in the ECM but a module on the CAN bus has info that a regular 'scan-tool' will not read.

You need a COMPLETE scan of ALL modules on the CAN bus and the SCP network.

I use WDS and IDS but there are other tools that can read all modules.
