1993 XJ40 VIN 669499, seems to be a cross-over time frame and I am having a hard time finding a fuel pump. I think it should be EBC11365 (discontinued?) What would be suitable substitutes? Will/can they be modified to work? I am also having issues with finding O-Rings that go on the pipes entering the fuel filter. The light blue relays seem to be hard to find also, It there replacements that I should use/ or can get?
Thank You,

The fuel pump is pretty generic, go to rock auto and buy the cheapest, the OEM pump is a Walbro brand and most of the others, Airtex et al including the expensive Bosch are also just a re-boxed Walbros.

The fuel filter is a standard aftermarket thing available from your local parts store or rockauto and fairly sure any o-rings would be in a typical kit assortment or from your local Napa.

It has been many a moon since I replaced all my light blue relays, but I did replace them after Jaguar put out a bulletin suggesting they could be problematic given the fact thet aren't sealed. I believe I replaced mine with black sealed units from FCP EURO although any sealed units with same rating pinouts should be just fine too.

This is a good reference for part numbers vs. VIN

Jaguar Classic Parts

BTW, the fuel pump lives INSIDE the plastic module EBC11365 and unless the module is faulty, it's usually just the pump that fails.

Get rid of the 'crappy-blue-Hella-relays'.

Out of stock fuel pumps
Larry, I did look thru old threads to find what had been done in the past. The part numbers listed that were used are all out of stock/unavailable now (E8249). I ordered from Walbro Kit 5CA246 (thinking it was in stock) but it is listed as on hold. I got my tank out and am getting worried about how long it will take to get parts. My pump had 31655, AOJ015 and 18492-1 on it with Walbro stamped on it. What can I do? Has anyone done this recently?
Thanks, Proquest

Here's a few, match up the physical size with one of these. (the top of the list ones I'd skip)

this one looks pretty good to me

Not quite right
Larry, I got the USEP 8249 fuel pump from Rock Auto and most matches except output pipe diameter. It is to big to fit into the donut. It is brass and I am thinking of using my Dremel tool to remove some and polish to make a smooth fit into the donut. Also should I be able to blow through the tower (plugging the donut)? Or will it take more pressure than I got? I don't want to whittle the brass piece down and it still be blocked. Thanks ProQuest

That's too bad, major hassle. Why not return it and get another one? This one has the right size looking at the illustration ..

Larry, Thanks for the help. I did return the pump and got the Carter P72222 (it was the right diameter and had both filter screens). I also found the fuel pump O-rings CAC89682 at SNG. I am starting a new thread because no change in symptoms I have with the car.
