Default how to drain self-leveling hydraulic sys

Hi guys, I just joined the forum today and posted in the "new member intro" thread. I'm sure this issue has been covered on these forums already but I'm trying to save a little time if someone could direct me to the info that covers draining the sys. Very much appreciated. Cheers.

Jaguar Publication S-73 is an excellent source for info on the system. There are also TSBs for the rear self leveling system.

Thanks a bunch Bob, I'm looking forward to being an active member once I learn my way around a bit. There's lots to learn when it comes to Jags, lots of models and etc. Even before I bought mine, I was always fascinated with the cars. I was looking to sell mine and turn a quick profit but I fell in love with it and now I'm not ready to part with it anytime soon. They definitely have a unique character about them.

I like Bobs way of suggesting sls removal.
Sooner or later, if you wanna keep the car, you gonna make that decision, but for time being you can bleed it and hope for better
If i'm not mistaken (saying from memory) there was bleeder fitting above right side rear strut, you open that, let car drop his level and bleed the fluid, close, start the car to pump system and rise the car, repeat till you are happy with the result, i've got a lot of foam and dirty fluid but it did't fix my struts.
Non ride level struts goes together with the correct non ride level springs if you reuse sls springs you gonna get ugly sagging end and no better performance

Thanks xjack, much appreciated. I must be one of the lucky ones so far, but I haven't noticed any rear sagging and the car remains remarkably level but I will definitely keep an eye on things from here on out. I'm trying to understand how the rear brakes relate to the sys., though. Thanks much again.

By the way, I was wondering if I can just disconnect the return hose from the reservoir, plug and keep feeding the fluid trough the reservoir but then air could enter the sys. Oh well, I'll give it some thought before I do anything. Thanks again.

Assuming you are trying to replace the fluid in the system disconnecting return hose should work, you could replace the fluid that way and than bleed the rear, that would force fresh fluid to the struts, if you wanna just drain the system and replace some components than press the brake pedal repeatedly till it get hard (loose assistance) and than crack the system open wherever you need.
Don't loose other hoses while under pressure or it will end up with ungodly mess and system evacuated in its totality onto your floor
