The proportions just don't work, particularly on the roofline.
The looks could be justified somewhat if the builder had installed something just stupid for a powerplant, like an overboosted Cummins diesel. Then it would be hilarious...
I notice there are NO photos of it from the side, so one can see just how Out of Proportion it is.
What I can see is Ugly! Except for the V8 of course (which I do understand makes the Traditionalists gag), but, I'll give it a pass. I have the most Beautiful Jaguar ever to come off the assembly line already (I freely admit my Shameless bias).

The Series III looks cobbled together, look at the square top corner of the door and the curved roofline right over it. But the newer burgundy one looks cool. Notice how on that one the door used the front half of the front door and the back half of the rear door. The back edge of the door fits around the wheel arch, very cool.
I'm trying to decide if the burgundy car is a Photoshop job or not.
If the original fabricator had taken inspiration from the mid-Seventies XJ coupes (which would require a lot more sheet metal work) the proportions would be much better.
Sorry I couldn't resist, it's a photo folded over on itself. With very little massaging. Look under side mirror at coach line. Car is however in process of being built ( see "1996 XJ12R") but the project has sat idle for the last 5 years due to an unscheduled visit from Uncle Cancer. When your looking at possible short time your prioritys change in an instant. This project didn't make the top 20. We have it appears been successful at evicting Uncle Cancer and most... not all of the top 20 have been accomplished so soon we will have time to devote to the above. I do agree the series 3 missed the mark. But I fully understand the amount of work he went through.
