Default Lowering springs for early 80s xj 6, PDX, OR

I have a jag front suspension on my 1946 Chevy pickup. It fits great and works well. I am trying to lower it a bit from stock/factory height. I don’t want to cut or heat the factory springs. Are there any after market options? I found King Springs, but they don’t lower it enough. Only 2 inches or so.

Many thanks!!

The springs are gonna get awfully short past the drop of King springs. Even just removing all the spring pads from the stock springs (wait, have you tried that first?) leaves them pretty short. You may be looking at some skeletal surgery.

On Series III XJ6, you dont need to cut the spring to lower the suspension. The spring bucket on the lower control arm unbolts from the A-arm. You get longer bolts and make spacers or use washers to create a gap between the spring bucket and lower arm. I not certain that series I & II are the same but I would bet they are. Someone else on the forum can possibly verify.

They are and I've used that method on my ser 2 also, but I wouldn't recommend a deep drop this way unless some method of strengthening that connection is made.

worn out springs coupled with 60 series tires will let you scrape the asphalt to your satisfaction.

30 minute Job if you have the spacers and longer bolts on hand. The bolts need to be 3/8-24 grade 8. The 2 longer bolts that hold the lower stock mounting bracket are a bit of a pain.
