What size is the thread for the oil pressure sender?
I am trying to bring back to life a Proteus "C type" Jaguar.....plastic body with a Series 11 xj6 running gear. Engine # 8L41420.
Oil pressure gauge does not work and I need to plumb in a known good one to check if I even have oil pressure.
What is the thread size for the standard sender so I can rig up my external oil pressure gauge.
Thanks,
Scott in CA

The switch is 1/8 BSPT (British standard pipe tapered; 28 TPI). Not the same as 1/8-27TPI NPT (National pipe tapered)
Maybe I misread the ask, dunno.
The oil light (idiot light) tapping is the 1/8 as stated, but I thought he was asking about the Gauge sender, which is the larger if the 2 on the oil filter housing.
Maybe I need more coffee, or something??

If you are simply trying to get oil pressure readings, I would try the 1/8 hole for that. The 27, 28 and M10x1.0mm all so close that they are easy to find adapters.
Also note that if you do not get crazy tightening with threading any of these you will likely not damage the block.
Use brass adapter and the threads will deform the adapter before the block. The seal will be 'good enough' for the short duration of the test!!(teflon tape?)
The British Standard sending unit is not worth damaging threads for this application.
People are going to do what they want so carry on.
