Default Where do I start? Parting with her..

I have my mother’s 1982 XJ6 Vanden Plas with about 100k on the odo, almost all logged in the 80's and early 90's. I acquired her in 2002. She was in great running condition, and there were multiple $2000 fixes along the way- yikes. It was in ok driving condition up until a few years ago, at which time succumbed to a fuel pump issue that I never pursued. And so there she sits in the barn...
At one time I was going to refurb and rebuild Mom's old car, but financial reality is that I just need to part with it. I have the car but the title is in the ex-fiancée ( with whom there is zero communication) name, so title is not transferable. Again, long story.

But there is an assembled pile of vintage original parts that may have some value to someone who is in need of OEM parts- everything short of registrable chassis.

I live in central Florida far from the coast. It's been under roof most of the years I've had her, but she ain't the beauty she once was. Dad had a minor wreck in the mid 80's which resulted in needing a new hood and left quarter panel, and subsequent non-lacquer paint job on those panels, which is apparent as they still look good LOL. The rest of the original lacquer paint is crackled.

Anyways, this is a rabbit hole of details that are irrelevant and I'll spare you of. Absolute paper trail of repairs, and all the way back to original window sticker.

So, what would the forum members here suggest might be my best course of action to benefit XJ6 enthusiasts, and myself? This, short of just sending her to scrap yard based on weight..
I do not want to part it out in my barn, but instead prefer to sell it whole and as is , and buyer would have to bring trailer or flatbed.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

LOL no, it's automatic trans. That is a reference to my boat and mountain bike, which have no clutch.

Ah cool, well as for your XJ I wouldn't expect much money for it if any. I'm in a similar situation with my 86. I'll likely give it to someone who would refurb it and put it back on the road, and it has a quarterbreed kit and a 700r4 trans. Fuel tanks expire after this many years, the cleaning routine is extensive work and short lived = discouraging after a couple tries, I have too many other more desirable projects. It's sat on my back patio now for a few years, I offered it to Boger for free and I don't think it's really worth his time to come get it. Pity, such nice interiors and a fine drive, I sure don't want to be the one to crush it. Maybe you could find a car guy local to donate yours to? The extra parts you could offer for sale here on the marketplace?

Slofut- yes I probably need to try to find if there are any local enthusiasts. The mechanic I have used who works predominantly on old European cars may be the place to start. If it were a ‘82 Datsun 280z or K5 Blazer it would certainly be easier to find interested people.
Regarding the tanks- yea it had leaking from one tank back there just behind the wheel well, but only when switched to that side and trying to start it….kind of a spooky sight, but at least the exhaust wasn’t getting hot 🙄

Yep, any of those cars would be gone in an instant...

I’m in exactly the same position. I bought 2 XJ6’s a 1972 &1984 to get the 1972. The 1984 is completely original and rust free. Running when stored 20+ years ago. I’ll take a few bits from the 84 to put in the 1972 ( interior ) and swap with the 72. Both interiors are nice I just prefer the tan interior to the black. Then I’ll call up WELSH JAGUAR and another local all Jaguar yard and see if either want them.
I don’t expect much if anything.

The XJS was design was outlined by Malcolm Sayer and finished by Doug Thorpe's design team - Bill loathed the XJS design

I do agree that Sir Lyons wasn’t a designer on any of his cars but he did take prototypes home and look at it in the evening setting.Sunlight raising a line here altering a sweep there.
It was the last one he had any input at all. I can see some of his touches in details like where the fender line moves along the body. The shape of the hood and how it works with the headlights.
I know that he had absolutely nothing to do with the installation of the engine. That must have been pure corporates cost accountants. I mean they killed the 5 speed over a lousy £50,000 investment cost. ( which IMHO would have made the car the great GT It was supposed to be).

If anyone in driving distance of Ocala,Florida, wants this car for parts, it's free to a good, or even not so good home LOL
Again, it's not running at this time and would have to be trailered/flatbed away, and there is no title.

I'm interested in the radio, I am in the Orlando area. I will make the trip to Ocala if you let me pull it and any other parts. But I don't have space to store it or even a trailer.
Otherwise you might call one of those "We buy junk cars" and they will pay you $80.00 for it.
