Default advices between 2 cars

Hi there,

Here is the dilemma

1995 XJS V12 convertible, previous accident, 2 owners, no service records, only the last tune-up, fully repainted, needs little TLC, 41 000miles

or

1995 XJS 6cyl convertible , no accident, one owner, 115 000 miles, less TLC

Both the same price

Your advices will be much appreciated

Sylvain

Do you have any Photos?

Is one of them or both of them 'The Celebration Model' ?

Is none of the above a choice?

Find the very best one you can afford. Patience pays off.

The V12 have the rear spoiler, color keyed mirrors and 16 in wheels, not a celebration

Aha, decisions decisions... All depends on what you're looking for in this car?

Also depends how bad the accident was, a light fender bender isn't a problem, but anything more and I'd look carefully, but that's just me. But then there's the engine, personally I'm fond of the V12.

All in all the 6 cylinder is probably the better bet, and by no means slow, accident free is always a plus too, but, if you're after the V12...

I'll leave the rest to you.

I do prefer the V12 for the engine and the rarity of this model, 78 units produced

Your choice, do you happen to know how bad the accident was? We're on the same page about the engine though.

And the prices are 7000.00 (9000$ CAD) each and I am ready to spend another 3000$ (4000$ CAD) for TLC's right now.

If the V12 just had small collisions and has been fully repainted as you say, with a quality paint job that is equal to or superior to the factory job, that's the car I would take, no questions asked. A proper high quality paint job is not only expensive, but difficult to even find, IMO. Everything else is doable if you are willing to invest time and money.

If you're sending it in to have the work done, then 6 cylinder. If you're doing it yourself, V12.

Just my 2c.

Good luck!
