Default Bumper Chrome

The brackets of the chrome trim of my rear bumper have rusted out and torn themselves from the trim. I now have a large hole so it will need to be replaced.

Does anyone know how different the chrome trim is per generation? I have a 1992 car and that has the slimmed down rubber bumpers but the chromework looks to be the same as the previous model, the same shame of chrome is fastened to the top of the facelift models- did jaguar actually retool their assembly line for just 2 years of production or can I fabricate earlier or later parts to fit?

The chrome for the plastic bumper cars won't fit a '92. Not sure about pre facelift, but the part numbers are the same from vin 139052.

Vin 139052 that would be models after 1987-88?

Sport Pack suspension came standard in 87 and they all got the Teves MkIII in 88, but no body changes as far as I can remember. So it makes sense that they would carry on using the same part for the slimmed down rubber work- Thinking about it logically- they probably went through rubber moulds far quicker than the metal presses, that would be far more cost effective to retool that.

I guess the thing to do now is to just buy one, even if it doesn't fit, someone else will need it so its not like I will be stuck with it for long. Unless anyone does actually know for sure I will give the sucking it and seeing method a go
