Default Bye byr Blue, hello Red.

Sorry but it had to be done.
Couldn't bear another 0530 run on the motorways in horrible winter weather with my **** scraping on the ground and being constantly blinded by towering idiots with LED lights.
That is twice that the X Type has let me down and I had to take the Beast to work.
Something a bit more comfortable and a lot quieter (and faster!) to ease my aching bones and fading eye sight.

Wait, so you sold an X-Type, kept the XJS and bought an XJ8? Or you sold the XJS?

Sold the XJR-s and bought an XJR6.
I know, sacrilege.

Cars are like women Steve, if they do not do it for you any more, then move on...
What did you do with the X Type, Steve, burn it?
And the new one looks lovely.

I should burn it but it has a fresh MOT on it today!
Only had to get the wheel bearing done.
And the transfer box leak.
And the hole in the sill.
Going to try and trade it for another one but an automatic this time; the leg won't stand for riding the clutch in 2 hour traffic queues anymore.

I'm with Greg.

Mine moved on for similar reasons, getting in and out with leg issues is no fun, and the novelty wears off real quick.

XJR6, WELL DONE.

Yeah, I try to keep the faith and not buy a Beemer!

HA,

I'm down to a 2010 X Type since some dumb Wombat plowed into the Black S Type.

No S Types here at the time that took my fancy, so a lowly LE 2.1V6 "big block" X is the DD for now.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

It's the X Type clutch that gives me leg problems, not the XJS.
The XJS did everything for me that it was supposed to do; go really (really!) fast, makes a shed load of noise and made me look way cooler than I actually am.
What it wasn't supposed to do was be out on crowded roads at 0530 on a winter morning because the stupid X Type let me down again.
The XJS actually had better headlights than the X Type too!

So, Steve, why didn't you flog the X Type and buy the XJR6, rather then keep the one you did not like?

That was the original plan but I have spent too much on the X Type to let it go for £1300; the intention now is to trade it for an automatic of some description, maybe another X Type, maybe a scooby.
Plus I would have ended up with 2 toys and no sensible car!
