Coolant hose availability 1988 V12?
So, had a coolant hose rupture at the clamp. Its the one that goes from the RHS coolant gallery to the heater diverter valve.
Do any of you kind folks have a part No. For this hose?
After doing some research my mechanic says they are no longer available. It was with him getting some other stuff looked at when it decided to let go. Current plan is to shorten hose by an inch and reconnect.......not my preferred solution! I did see some suspiciously cheap 'complete silicone V12 hose kits' on ebay for ~$150 but doesn't seem like a great choice either.
Thanks in advance!

Here is one for sale, part number C43999, this supplier is good. The advert also has a useful diagram of the hoses for the heater.

All the specialists have them, e.g. David Manners, SNG Baratt. If one has gone best to do the lot.
This supplier has a very good kit:

Jaguar still have them: https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...3999-hose.html

Quentin,
ALWAYS start your parts search on the Jaguar parts website! Then you will:
- never have to ask for another part number. Every part number for every part on your car is detailed here
- rely on workshops or mechanics misinforming you if a part is still available.new
Having used the parts website, finding the part number and seeing if the part is still available from Jaguar, you can then decide if you want to go elsewhere and find an OEM or a pattern part.from an indepndnet supplier
Here's the page on the Jaguar site showing the pipe part number and it's price and confirming it's still available. Maybe you should give the website link to your mechanic!

So......... going to be replacing all hoses.
After navigating the dreadful Jaguar classic website a number of OEM hoses NLA, so have ordered a complete set from David Manners instead.
This then raises the 'thorny' question of thermostats!
I figured go with Waxstat OEM. Two options listed, with one recommended by SNGB:
https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...0-e90d890edc4c
Is that a safe-ish bet w.r.t. correct opening distance and presence of jiggle pin (to release steam right?), or should I still check opening distance before fitting? If jiggle pin absent then the mod to remedy this is to drill two holes - correct?
Understand Tstat gaskets may be square or triangular shaped depending on specific housings fitted,
Thanks in advance!

I use Stant superstats. Really well made and they work perfectly. I tested them in boiling water and they both started to open simultaneously at the correct temperature. You do have to drill a 4mm hole roughly 10mm inwards of the rim though to allow air to purge when they are closed; this just reproduces the OEM hole. they are stainless and beautifully made. The hole must be uppermost when fitting the stat.

Hey Greg,
Thanks for the recombination.
How do you define 'uppermost' re. Hole location, since the tstat only fits one way?
