Default Diamond in the rough

I know how XJS owners appreciate a good mechanic that not only is efficient, but reasonably priced. I found a shade tree mechanic who has worked on vehicles his entire life 24/7 but never saw an XJS in his life. When I arrived at his place of work, I had Kirby Palms bible in hand. He spent ten minutes reading the section and closed to book. I asked him what’s wrong and he replied’’ I got it’’. He replaced the two front rotors/shocks/brake pads and re-greased the bearings and then jumped to the rear and put four new shocks on. Total time was five hours for entire job. While doing rear shocks, he noticed loose bolts in rear sub frame and tightened them all. Total cost $110.00.

That was One hundred and ten dollars total price and he DID NOT have a hoist. I gave him One Hundred and fifty and he smiled. His name is Jeff and his no is 12504592020. Maybe a little hard to get a hold of because he's always outside. I supplied all parts.

Heck, I charge a lot more than that for working on my own Jags.

I did tell him that he could have a few calls from locals. As I mentioned, He flew at this job like he had worked on Jags all his life. I guess the fundamentals in Auto mechanics are things some mechanics lack. I have been ripped off by so called ''mechanics'', and it is nice to see a guy who does not curse and fling tools, but figure it ou and gets the job done.. I am so happy he is just up the road from me. I was prepared at first to trailer my xjs to Van, and the Jag Garages said it is ''to time consuming" and declined my business. They saved me a lot of money. Treat this guy right and he will do a job. Cheers
