Default Does anyone know this Part Number? XJS V12

Seeing as I am laid up with the FLU for the next few days, I thought I might try and get a new set of those Flat Faced 'O' rings, to go in the Valve Block of the Teves ABS as well as a Couple of Rubber Mounts for the Reservoir.

So does anyone have the Part Numbers of these?

Or if not the Part Number of the Kit that Contains them.

I thought the Kit may be Girling SP7673 but according to one firm that supplies old Parts for Classic Cars, these Flat Faced 'O' rings are not included in that Kit.

Default ABS parts

I will have to check the box if I can find it but I think the seal kit for actuators and reservoir was JLM11337. In trying to prove that I found another posting here on the forums with the attached PDF.

Just searching Jaguar xjs abs seal kit brought up:
1990 Jaguar XJS ABS Repair Kit (Genuine)
which looks to have the reservoir mount and the little white piece of tubing that us down inside one of the holes that I remember. No affiliation with the website above, I found a Jaguar kit but I think they were no longer available even 2 years ago but I found on ebay or jagbits.

Good Luck,
Ron

OB,

Found these part numbers.

1) O/ring and seal kit = JLM1477
2) Valve block kit = JLM11337

The picture from my parts lookup has a seal #7 shown, but NO parts number for it, which is rather frustrating. I reckon #7 is what you seek.

Hi Grant

They don't call you 'The Wizard Of OZ' for nothing! That's exactly what I need and I think I've found a place where I can get it!

I was going to re-use the Old Ones but since I am out of the 'game' with the Flu, it would be better to fit new, if I can get them.

I've also turned to the JD to try and speed up my recovery and am taking One Level 5mm Tea Spoonful 3 Times a day before meals.

Does that sound about right to you? or should I make that Mugfuls instead of Spoonfuls.

Stop Press!

Just got an email to tell me that the Kit will be in Tomorrow! So I'm feeling better already

Hi Ron

You are a 'Trooper!' that looks like what I need and now I think I've managed to find it in the UK which would have been pretty impossible with out the numbers to locate it with.

Many Thanks

For Helping me, which is appreciated.

OB & Greg,

The diagrams are a little confusing but JLM1477 is the seal kit for the reservoir mount.

The O-ring is also the same part that is used to mount the pressure switch into the motor and pump on the other side of the car.

Still available from Jaguar for £20.

The ABS valve block repair kit JLM 11337 is probably the other seals that you want, but NLA from Jaguar and, despite the number of manufacturers that fitted the Teves Mk II, I can't find anyone selling the seals.

Get on the phone to your dealer, OB, for the reservoir seal kit.

Paul

Hi Paul

Due to My lack of mechanical 'nouse' I am a bit confused now.

The most important items for me are the 4 X Flat Faced 'O' rings

The Kit that they are getting in is JLM 1477 is this the reservoir kit?

Which may not have those Flat Faced 'O' rings included?

Or is the reservoir kit what I need, although I'm not sure why I would need it, if it does not contain those 'Flat Faced 'O' Rings'

OB,

JLM1477 is the reservoir seal kit which contains the mounting seals for the reservoir as per your second pic. It doesn't contain the flat seals for the valve block. I'm struggling to find anyone who advertises that they can provide these seals for the Teves Mk II.

I think you're going to have to go to a seals supplier and get some suitably-sized ones which are made of EPDM or similar for the valve block.

Hope that makes sense

Paul

Hi Paul

Yes I get it now!

It looks like the Reservoir Kit, is also an essential part of the Mix, as if you get any leaks, then Fluid can go all over the place, which of course is deadly to paint work.

Knowing the material that they use for those 'O' rings, is literally worth its weight in 'Gold' as if the old ones don't work out then I can have some made.

Although to be quite honest, I won't be too disappointed if my efforts come to nothing, as I am getting almost obsessed with 'Retro Fitting' the earlier 'Brake Booster Type'

The whole thing looks so simple, its almost a no brainer! and as for making the pipes up, I made up a complete new Set for the Merc, that are still going strong five years later.

Which is also fitted with Non Abs, and as for the 'Feel' of the Pedal, I just can't tell the difference.

I don't know why they changed it less is more!
