Default Electrical issue- where to start...?

Hello- I have a US version 1982 XJS HE... we bought it partially disassembled, and now have it running and stopping... My issue is, the wipers and inside fan are not working. I have checked fuses, and doing a simple check with multi-meter, discovered Fuses 1, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 12... have no current going to them.

I find this really odd... and curious if anyone has had similar... and what recommendations anyone has- before I start taking the dash apart to try and track down why no current is at those fuses.

I would look at a wiring diagram to find out how this is all wired up and possibly they may all be connected to one or two connectors or track back the power feed to the next connection to see if you have power there. Also look at the relays servicing the items you've mention have battery power.

Might want to check the load relay, as mentioned in this thread

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...chased-271964/

It powers-up fuses 9,11, 12 according to my diagrams

Fuse 7 is for the panel lights so it would have power only with the lights on

What are fuses 1 and 6 for? I can't easily tell from my diagram

Cheers
DD

I should have added...Fuses
1- is fog lights
6- rear fog guard
7- panel switches (including cigar lighter- but it works)
9- wipers
11- air conditioning, washer, fan, horn
12- heated mirrors, heated rear screen

USA market XJSs of that vintage didn’t have front or rear fog lamps so those circuits are inactive…. thus no power to the associated fuses
