Default The Gary Walker Twin Turbo XJS

Hello all,
Stumbled across this article scanned/posted on an Aussie Jaguar Facebook group from a 1985 issue of "Modern Motor" magazine, about the beginnings, and review of, the mythical twin turbo built by Gary Walker. Thought it was a great read and figured I'd share it with all of you here on the forums.
Enjoy!

Walker built 3 of them there is also a Green and Silver one, the black one shown here was originally owned by Kerry Packer. It was sold on eBay a few years ago.

The Green one was transformed into a race car and the Silver one I have pics of somewhere.

Jagworks offers a large range of Jaguar used vehicles, Jaguar new and used parts.

i wonder what they did for the rear end that for sure it would wiggle and fishtail on hard acell. ??

most IRS did back in the day, new suspension tech has helped , but solid axle is still the best.

I Like It!

Great Article I sure wish I had unlimited resources, and didn't have to work 8 to 5 everyday . I'd have a dozen projects like this one, and have the time, and money to work them, and finish some of them! I know wishful thinking. I can still Dream can't I???

Not quite as big but you can buy patch panels for a VW Golf Mk1 very cheaply and weld the flares on to your Jag. If you want something bigger search metal flares on Ebay.

Huge flares (too big for a street car in my opinion) and lowered ...

@ThunderRoad, thanks for posting this article!
“But as it is, it’s tame, smooth and quiet; it’s like a standard XJ-S….

…It’s no problem getting 500bhp out of a Jaguar V12 without turbocharging, but the engine loses some of the refinement of the standard one. That’s why I like the twin turbos: they keep it as smooth and docile as the standard V12, without any camshaft lumpiness or rough edges.”
I've been bleating for a long time that the Mercedes TTV12 is an ideal LUMP candidate for the XJS. If you're gonna stay old school internal combustion, that is.

Electric is up and coming - also well suited to the XJS.

I can't thank @LongJohn posts, but I like the black XJS. BMW wheels with the VW Golf flares?

The cage is braced to the boot floor. Problem is that the torque and traction causes the floor to ripple.

BTW I still have the original Modern Motor copy with this article in it in.

Does anyone currently offer a turbo kit for the V12?

No. I even doubt the Lister compressor conversion is even possoble anymore. Yonks ago it was easier to fit the compressors than the turbos as compressors required less piping.
