Today at least lol smh. Ive had a few days recently where i start driving and the gauge flys to full hot within a quarter mile. Ive checked temps with my thermal thermometer and everything reads good. Ive had some issues with it and my oil gauge going nuts since I got it, and i pulled the cluster and cleaned stuff up a couple years ago. Its still off and on depending on how she feels lol
Edit! And just like that, on the way into work tonight the gauge now reads WAY over red after 1/4 mile of driving smh. Gotta be a short

My ‘88 turned 100K back in May 2022; still running great at 110K. You got a better picture than I did. Congratulations on the milestone!

mine has been wanting to pass the n this texas 120 degree summer but I have my driving tricks to keep that from happening. Part of it is my thermostat likely needs replacing, part is the flexible circuit board broke and I have tried to fix it with some special conductive tape, but I am sure I need a new one, sadly the part is NLA

Its okay if it creeps over the N a bit. It seems scary but that’s why the gauges in the XK8 and later cars have a dead center setting when covering a wide range. Customers used to worry a ton. You should see the temp gauge in a Series 3 XJ6. Its a cruel joke for those who overheat their engines and a constant worry for those with a perfectly good working cooling system.

Excellent. Great to see XJS being used for serious distances.

Jaguar must have been very confident to calibrate the odometer to return to zero at 1,000,000 miles. I'll be following this thread and considering a suitable prize for the winner.
