Im rebuilding a pre-he v12, and at the point now that im doing the top with injectors, some are working some are rusted shut.
I know the Pre-HE d-jetronic are EV1 injectors and the HE are later ones with different plugs. following the 92+ ones.
what im interested in is getting rid of as much rubber hose as i can, and was wondering if a rail from a 92+ V12 would work?? those have ZERO hoes and clip ti the rail. Different injectors i know, but are the flow rates the same.... would they even work with the older jetronic?
As of now im going to use the HE fuel rail with the hoses.
The later 6 litre fuel rail with the 6 litre injectors has a different manifold, the injector holes are not the same size as the 5.3 HE. Maybe the 5.3 can be drilled out, no idea.
Just to Make sure on this.
using 92 5.3 fuel rail with the injectors and they will work? Fellow member has a 92 and i can see how its all laid out i like that there is only two rubber hoses
Having the pre-He's flow more would that cause a problem with the newer injectors flowing less now using d-jetronic?
I was not aware that the later injectors use a different size O ring, I have not pulled my 5.3L injectors. I do know the 6.0L uses 14.5mm O rings
Using smaller injectors is not an issue, fuel rail pressure can be increased to increase injector flow. O ring injectors for the later 5.3L and 6.0L are the same, the 6.0L runs higher rail pressure.
I picked this up today for my pre-he build.
Im going to use the whole thing. im quite excited.
im assuming these injectors will work.
Question I have is the fuel pressure reg thats on it, will it be ok for the the d-jetronic? I don't know the psi on these.

Yep the later fuel rail will work. The mounting is different as it mounts to the intake manifolds.
Early V12 injectors flow more than HE so if you replace them do all 12.
Is this an issue if placing higher flow injectors into an HE? Don't mean to hijack the thread but I have a set serviced by the guy in florida - 210cc average but my car is about 9 yrs newer then then the set. Are there specs on this? If you install older remans will it flood the engine?

You do not say what spec your car is..... So the answer is it depends. 210cc is 10% more flow than stock, if your car has O2 sensors the ECU will compensate in closed loop, ie idle and light throttle cruising. If no O2 sensors then you would need to check AFR.
Bigger injectors are not a good idea unless you have significantly increased the power and the current injector duty cycle is hitting 90%. I will be using injectors with 240cc in my 6.7L V12 but I have an adjustable ECU so can tune AFR.
Pre-HE should have cold start injectors as well as the 12 nornal injectors. You won't be able to fit the additional injectors to the later intake manifolds.
That assembly will work. Daim is correct it will not have cold start injector bosses machined, but I have read numerous threads where (I think it was Grant) deleted the CSI.
You may need to swap the FPR for an adjustable one to tune AFR. But I would install it as is and check AFR first.
Also before you install the manifold I would port the head end to clean it up and remove most of the injector boss.
First pic is the ported manifold, Second is the intake port before porting, notice the rough 45° chamfer, third pic is the port after smoothing, I have opened them slightly but not much, mostly they were matched.
Yep and I will need a vacuum tap at the throttle for the vac advance.
I will be doing something similar to that. But In order to use the them I will need to go with my throttle bodies due to the vac tap an the angled adapters will not fit on those.
