Default Looking to Buy Automatic Seatbelts

Hi everyone,

Have been daily driving and slowly restoring my 1989 Black Jaguar XJS for a while now. Last winter, I left the car outside and came to find that the automatic seatbelts on the rails had snapped off on their own in the cold. I am looking to buy a pair of automatic seatbelts from a parts car or new. Have tried contacting Jaguar dealerships around me regarding "lifetime warranties" with the seatbelts but they simply responding saying they cannot find any suppliers for the belts.

To clarify, I am only looking for the belts that bolt up to the rails which go back and forth. Preferably Id like to buy the belt in tan or black.

Located in CT 06457.

Thanks!

I have one tan seat belt assembly that appears to be NOS.
Don't know what year or what side it's from.

equiprx,

HMD1301AA is from an XJ6 rather than an XJS

Cheers

Paul,
I didn't know that.
Do you know what year(s) it covers?
Are any of the parts useful to you?

equiprx,

I don't really know anything about US models, I just looked up the part number on Jaguar's parts website. It seems it relates to US-destined XJ40 up to VIN 657854. So a quick check will tell you what year that relates to.

Cheers

Paul

Some owners have removed those dam automatic belts and replaced them with normal belts.

Bump, still in search of those belts. Really looking forward to get this car back on the road.

I've considered this route, although I'm not sure if the mounting points would be present on the auto seatbelt cars. Would you know?

Did you try talking to Dean Cusano at Motorcars in Plainville, CT?
https://www.motorcarsinc.com/
I've had my XJS a few years now and Dean has been great to deal with. If anyone around here can help it would be him.

I had the same issue with the automatic seatbelts and have assembled all the parts necessary to convert to the traditional restraint system. However, while considering the idea of repairing what 've got, I have seen the parts available online:
1) https://www.ebay.ca/itm/234828503813 Try contacting the ebay seller - it looks like he's parting out a 1989;
2) Looks like Jagbits has what you need as well https://www.jagbits.com/product/HHE1300AB-USED.html
