What happened to Mish_Mish? He had some NICE BMW lattice wheels on his XJS. Had to bore the centers just a bit if I recall.

In gets confusing because of the variances in calendar year versus model year for different markets.

It's probably safe to say that the Lattice wheels came out during 1988 calendar year.

Yes, in European markets, the sportspack become regular equipment in all models (6 or 12 cylinders) since February 1988. As part of this sportspack, the Lattice rims with 235/60 tyres were introduced in all models too, or another details like the Recaro-style seats.

I didn't know if in the US this upgrade did arrive later.

Default 18" Coventry Whitley on 94 6.0 coupe

18s are not too low profile. I ended up with 235 45 18s which are the same overall diameter as the oem 225 60 16s. The fit great and look awesome

I think it occurred at the same time but in the USA these cars carried "1989" VINs.

quick pic of my 9-18 frts, and 10-18 rears.ENKEI.

had Starfish 15s, then Corvette 17-9, this is what i ended up with, i do get a lot of good remarks for the wheel/tire combo.

the car could be a little lower, but i'm close to the bump stops now! flares are steel welded into the body ,very strong no flex.

like jpitma1 said above, 18 are not TOO big. they are on the big side. and i personally would have preferred a 17.

nonetheless, i have 18x8 asteroids from a 2001 XJR, and (again, like jpitma1) have 235/45-18 tires. 1/4inch spacer on the front wheels. slight rub on the rear at full suspension travel. outside of tire rubs on inside of fender well. not much, but i can see where some of the dust has been rubbed off.

have a photo
