This is probably related, but I just got my car back from the painter (its been repainted) and I have found no power to the OBD2 port. I have plugged in several different devices and none of them energize, regardless of whether the engine is on, or the ignition is on with the engine off.

My remote does not do anything, so I suspect the security module is at fault. I dove into my trunk and found this, a loose module and a lonely looking ground post...

Can someone help show me what it's supposed to look like, so I can restore it? Is there a fuse to check?

Are these three wires in the right order? Does it matter?

I have a 2pin connector...not connected to anything, and I just thought I'd check to see if the three wires connected to this silvery box over here are in the right order?

 

Drove the car to work and plan on leaving it in a protected garage while the paint cures. As I left it this morning, I clicked the button and got the familiar beeps. No movement on the locks, but then just as I was leaving the car at the shop I began having trouble with the passenger side lock. It was no longer actuating... It might all be related.

I feel like an idiot for not bringing along an OBD2 plug. I'd be interested to know if that's back online as well...

 

Wow...did a child paint it ??......I would not be happy. So much overspray in the trunk, seems they didnt like masking anything up.. Hope its not worse anywhere else.

On mine the alarm box is fixed to the bottom 2 right rear light bolts with the other 2 black boxes (battery backup and bump sensor ). I couldn't see the white double plug.
The little silver box is fitted at the top under the edge and l have two unused (ground/neg) posts under the carpet like your one. Hope this helps.

 

If the battery or the alarm was unplugged you might need to reprogram them. Whats the black box with Jaguar on it ?

Also the alarm part # comes up as base unit no door locking.

Yes I know...Thanks. The alarm module has the part number on the photo and cross referencing with jaguar parts gives you base unit.
