From an investment standpoint....or merely trying to recoup expenses.... the increasing market value is a good thing, obviously. And with the increasing value owners will be willing to care better care of them; that is, spend money on them.
But I must say, though, that I'm a bit saddened by it, personally. For the longest time these oldie Jags were very inexpensive, 'Dirt cheap', really. This put them in reach of enthusiasts with limited disposable income; special and interesting cars that any hobbyist could afford.
Keep your eye on the Barrett-Jackson/Scottsdale this month. It's the first of '22 big ones and there are about a dozen Jags going across the block mainly Tuesday.

The one on BAT look closely at the underside rust and chin spoiler damage which devalues this example and hints at true condition. Fair price perhaps but not the finest example. Pass.

Seeing the sale price of that one is a surprise but not unwelcome, thanks for pointing it out robbo d. Makes me feel a little bit more comfortable with all the money I’ve spent on my car.The Money I’ve spent on my car has been dripped in over the last 6 years or so as I earnt it and the car progressed accordingly. now I’m hoping my trimmer will come good at last this weekend and maybe after 6 years of combined work with the help of others , she may be on the road this summer. A wise man once said you value everything by the pleasure it gives you, the pleasure I have derived from working on my car and the assistance received from this forum is unbelievable. Grant is a godsend but not to forget people who will forever remain strangers yet the closest of friends. Brinny. I've said many times the the Jaguar internet community is among the best anyone could find. I bought my first Jag almost 25 years ago. I would've been a ship lost at sea without the help of others.
Lovely sentiment! And the help equation is never one-sided. For whatever little bit of input that I've tried to provide, I've received the same back many fold from you and so many others in response to my own queries. And I'm sure others feel the same. As with so many other things in life, that's partly why all of us try and help others; because one day, we know we're going to need help ourselves!

I'm still a way off her being roadworthy unfortunately. Steering rack is away for a refurb and interior is being re trimmed. Should pick some up tomorrow fingers crossed 🤞. He's had it 6 months so far. As they say it's not just reaching your destination. Getting there's half the fun!
