Hi Jonathan

Yes you should feel guilty! (lol)

We don't have it that easy over this side of the Pond and Sacrifices have to be made in order for me to run one.

So no expensive Cups of Coffee Latte for the GF

Two Cups of that is almost enough to buy a Gallon of Petrol!

Default gas prices

i heard about the $10.00 per barrel tax he wants to add on. Here in Pennsylvania, our last outgoing Republican Governor tacked on a 10 cent per gallon tax to go into effect every January for 4 years (I think). Politicians just never have enough. ever. They enjoy it when the price to us is low cause that's when they can best get away with adding on more taxes.

Well when I decided to purchase my v12 the gas was hovering at $5.00 a gallon

the plan I had was too...
1) pay it off quick...
2) save up $3000
3) buy the natural GAS fuel injection kit
4) buy CNG tanks...
5) buy CNG at 2.05 a Gallon =

but now that would not be cost effective...

what is your CNG (compressed natural Gas) gallon = Price over there
here it is a stable 2.05 per = gallon of gas

Operating Pressure:
3,600 PSI, 4 fast fill hoses

I do not know how the UK views CNG and how the UK prices it over there...

93 Octane this morning on the way to work was 2.259 / gallon

I found this INFO on the UK and CNG
BEGIN QUOTE:
You will find the UK a CNG desert. Crewe is account only and the others are closed to the public. Say CNG to anyone in the UK and they will think you are talking about LPG. CNG in the UK does not really exist. For LNG you will find 5-6 filling stations but again account only.
Gasrec’s station at the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) adjacent to J18 on the M1 is the only plaace to get CNG in the UK open access but when I tried, and was to be account only soon
END QUOTE:
MAN that is AWFUL !!! no choices?

Today I ordered Rob Beere rear alloy shocks and springs, along with HB's rear ARB and anti tramp kit in preparation for an IRS overhaul in 4 weeks... :-)

Can you please post a photo of the anti tramp kit? Are the shocks adjustable platform ones?

Hi Greg,

This is the shock, it's height and bump\stop adjustable:

This is the only (poor) pic I can find of the anti tramp kit:

Cheers

Just three more days to go and I will be reunited with the love of my life. I garaged her five months ago and went South. I can't wait to slowly strip her down of her garments, fondle the steering wheel, mumble little praises, tell her how much I have missed her while admiring her beauty.I don't care what Sigmund Freud says about me.

Tonight I rebuilt the headlight switch. I had no idea what I was doing going into it, but I've got light again.

My first day working on the car...
Today changed oil & filter and started checking "inspection-worthiness"... tried wipers and windshield washer - didn't work. Ended up taking apart the whole wiper thing down to motor. Cleaned, greased... wipers are working slow and fast but intermittent still don't work, they move just a little as relay clicks(relay works!). That little switch under worm gear must be bad... water pump is dead(draws a lot of current but does not pump) - ordered new one from amazon(8-6708). Unfortunately new pump will not work because when I press button for water - there is no power at the water pump connector (connected control lamp into the connector but it doesn't light up... hope it is some fuse, not the switch on the steering column.. ).

Well then! After my XJ8 has received all TLC it needed (and hopefully should need for a while!) I can now move back to my fun car... My XJ-S! Finally, after 18 months of neglection (yes, I couldn't work on her, as my crash in my former XJ6 caused my back to chronically hurt... That has finally past!) I was able to dig it out of around 5m³ of leaves and ***** and was able to give her the wash she really needed!

Apart from some tiny little rust spots which will be no worry to replace, the "fresh air storage" has been okay. I can't really see much at the front but it still looks okay. So, I will be getting her up and running again - hopefully - quite soon

A small before:

And a quick after:

Expect to see and hopefully soon HEAR more of my Iron Lady! She seemed to have waited well for me. Rusty (my XJ8) wouldn't have held that well!

New oil cooler hoses; hopefully will get away without having to replace the cooler as well.

Removed the rear bumper today to find: nothing! No major rot or so. The right hand side has been treated before, but I'll be removing the rust/rest and painting it again. Don't like hidden rot spots!

Just need to buy a new bumper beam and polish the stainless steel again

I found a bad radiator cap the only way I know how. I've got a new one on standby. Just need to wait for the motor to cool down.
