Yesterday I took off rear shocks for replacement, had 'banging' sound on the right side for a while. It turns out shocks were installed on the right side without the sleeve that goes on top bolt!

Anyway, tomorrow spring compressor comes from amazon and sleeves should be here shortly. Soon I will have new BOGEs installed :-)

So far recently I changed the brake fluid, differential, transmission and engine fluids. Next is to change the coolant and then change out the ski slope.

Are you running any sort of flush before dumping coolant?

Put springs on shocks, the cheap spring compressor worked just fine...

Been a long time coming and I still got a wayyys to go BUT, I just my new seat covers - and an insurance bill, lol

Seats are going to look great! I love the 89-90/91 seats.

Thanks Man... They're gunna take some work, I'm sure. I just did the armrest thinking it would be a snap... Hmm, not so much. I need carpets too,,, the inside of mine is like a gutted apartment. It's a funds thing. In time I figure

Nothing spruces up a tired interior like a fresh set of carpets. It'll be well worth it!

Dunno what to think. The Sport 17" rims are my favorite Jag rims (had them on my XJ8 illegally ) but on my favorite car, they don't seem totally catching...

Oh, btw., the Sport rims fit with no problems. The hub is fine and I could fit standard Jaguar hub caps as well...

Default Lost electrical power to everything but dash clock after charging battery 96 XJS

After letting battery die, I charged it back and successfully started vehicle. Shut off , and when I returned several hours later attempted to start. Engine turned over once, and on second attempt, lost power to everything but dash clock. Found negative batyery terminal very loose. Tightened. Charged battery back to full, but no power to anything but clock. Is there dome jagmagic in play here? New owner of '96 XJS - THANKS!

I put the car away in October and sent her into hibernation until yesterday. Put the key in after hooking up battery and turned it over. It fired after four revolutions and idled so sweet. I hope i am able to enjoy at least a month or two with her we will see.

New front shock top bushes and front antiroll bar link bushes mounted. That went surprisingly easy, 1½ hour from clean hands to they were clean again !
Both were not that shot, so I will probably not notice any difference, but it's good to know they are done...
The parcel also contained the main front antiroll bar bushes, but after looking at the access to change these I decided that could wait until next winter, where the front cross member is coming down for replacement of all bushes and V-mounts.


Old top mount bushes were black rubber and thereby not original


Remove nuts and pull damper down. Place new parts, assemble again. Easy !


Old bushes were quite deformed


New bushes in place. Nuts shall be tightened until stop on damper.


ARB link. Bushes were quite OK, but are now replaced with originals. Cheap !


Front ARB main bush CBC5580 (7/8" ARB as all preHE). This is the LH side, which is worst, probably due to PAS oil leak. It really needs to be changed, but now is the driving season, so it will have to wait for winter to come...

fitted a fuse to the top of the inertia fuel cut off so I can now stop the engine by pulling the fuse and take the pressure off the fuel system when parked in the sun or stored for the winter months, its almost invisible and also an immobiliser,

I really like these rims and would have put them on my car if I could have bought them for a reasonable price.
