Brake fluid
Small A/F socket set and A/F spanners
Cable ties
Bits of wire and connectors
Screwdrivers + and -
Spare set of belts
Gaffer tape
Jump leads
Spare ignition amplifier
None of which take up any serious room. In 20 years never used any of them, except the brake fluid once! But I always feel I should be so annoyed if I could not get going for the sake of a length of wire, a belt, etc etc.

No oil or ATF.

I only have the Jaguar issue tools along with a fire extinguisher.

Oh and a bottle of power steering fluid as my PS leaks.

Like Warren,

Jag tools, somewhere in there,

A SMALL bag with "100mile an hour tape", and a few feet of fencing wire, and a pair of pliers (to cut the wire).

Like Greg, never needed any of them, so I assume they are still stashed in there somewhere.

None of my Jags have ever carried a small workshop, or parts supply, no need, they are too damn reliable.

It is the "nut behind the wheel" that has the belief they are less than that.

Even on our two laps of OZ, over 12 months, I still carried the same stash, only added 4ltrs of water, just because there was room.

CONFIDENCE mate, ya gotta have heaps of confidence.

Hi Duke

Even after driving for just a few short miles, it isn't too long before 'Paranoia' sets in, where I can't take my eyes off the Temp Gauge in case it moves a fraction over normal and every little bump in the road spells a potential disaster

Much of which I put down to driving around with my dad, in those formative years where little things always tend to stick in your mind, a bit like the time we were going along only to be overtaken by one of our front wheels

That dad had forgotten to tighten up when he had changed a wheel the week before, so maybe quite a good job that we were only doing about 30 but he was not the kind of guy who ever used to panic whenever that stuff happened

And though I can't remember exactly what he said, I think the second word he used was 'me!'

I was properly shook I can tell you but he just put the Spare Wheel on and somehow we got home but while he seemed to treat this as a non event, having a Wheel overtake you like that is something you just cannot un-see

Which has no doubt contributed to the Paranoia that I have to day

Either that or maybe the time when he was adjusting the Cable on the automatic gearbox while the engine was running, which with the benefit of hindsight was maybe not the best idea that he ever had

Where without any warning, the Car shot out of the drive in reverse and then crossed over the road, only coming to a halt when it hit a street sign but again so sign of panic, he just took these things in his stride

All of which has left me with a fear of breaking down and so up until quite recently, I used to carry everyone of these Tools in the Boot/Trunk 'Just in case....'

'Paranoid moi' I suffer with a fear of breaking down!

But having gone for Therapy and also attended a number of Counselling sessions, I've finally managed to cut down on the number of Tools that I carry, to leave more space in the Boot/Trunk

So that I have got more room to carry 'Normal' Stuff whatever that is?

Cutting down on the number of Tools I carry 'Just in case.....!'

Right on, leaves more room for helping one's self to hotel towels, and various bits of nice cutlery and art your friends might have.

Make sure that your fire extinguisher is properly secured.
Otherwise, when you adjust the seat back to its proper position after your shortarse mechanic has been in there, the odd hissing noise from under your buttocks may not be a black mamba or a spitting cobra: it may just be 4 days of hoovering and dusting.

OB had to laugh... tire / gearbox stories are excellent.
Also in NZ its a chilli-bin... now that makes perfect sense, and yes I have one on my work car at all time.
Usually for cold shopping.... and sometimes beer.

Had a mate let off a powder extinguisher inside another mates RX7 doing 100km / hr on a open road. Lucky it was a straight road.
Instant white out, and he could not turn it off. He had just purchased it at a second hand shop and thought it was cold co2.
And I can tell you this powder stuff go in every little crevices and took weeks to clean. Stereo was rubbish.

Hi Duke

Unfortunately that's only the Tip of the Iceberg

But the one thing that I am never without, is my Mobile Phone which beats a box of Spanners any day!

Plastic sheeting, gaffer tape and a shovel.

Oh wait, what exactly does the question refer to?
