XJS front parking lights
The front amber lights on my Jag do not come on with the first click of the headlight switch. Side marker light come on, tail lights, come on and for some reason the headlights flicker.? Are the front amber lights supposed to light as running lights? Bulbs are good, they work when hazard flasher is used. The flashing of the headlight leads me to believe the switch is bad? The headlight, tail light etc. work when the headlight switch is put on the third position on the switch.
The facelifted cars with the euro style headlights have the front park light in them, not as the older cars turn signal.. Its the small bulb (5W i believe ) .

I have single filament bulbs in the front amber lights that come on as the turn signal and hazard lights. I not sire if my 95 is a face lift car it was built in 1994 according to the vin. I dont see any miniture bulbs in the headlight. Can they be seen without removing the hard almp assembly?
Thanks
Thanks
So the front amber turn signal and hazard lights do not come on as running lights, is that right. Running lights are in the headlight assembly and can be asses thru the wheel arch.

The XJS doesn't have running lights. The amber lights on the post '91 are the turn signal and hazard only. The headlight has the high and low beam halogen bulb and a small low power pilot/ parking light. The headlights will only work with the ignition on, the park lights on the first click.
If you dont have one, heres a link to the '94 owners manual

With the ignition on and the switch in the first position is that is when the headlights flicker, would you make an educated guess that the problem is in the switch?
Thanks, and I do have the manuals.
