Default 2008 jaguar xkr rear carrier differential assembly

Hi everyone my name is John,

Nice to meet you guys lot’s of lovely vehicles. I bought mine about a month ago and I am trying to make it look and sound like new. So far got my wheels re straightened balanced and re polished. Was excited to drive the car but ran in to an issue where I have to replace the rear carrier differential assembly. I am scared to drive the car and have the wheels lock on me. I’ve been looking everywhere for the replacement part but I am having a hard time finding it. Only finding the part for the newer models. Is it possible to install a newer one on the 08? I see they both look different if not where do you guys source yours?

Since you have an XKR, I suggest that you consider replacing the OEM open diff with a Quaife limited-slip differential.

These guys are listing a rebuilt unit (although the gear ratio seems wrong at 2:87)

If you're wondering if a Lincoln LS limited-slip diff will fit in the 4.2L XKR (as an alternative to the Quaife), see:
