Default 2010 XKR Convertible

Came across this listing on Craigslist for a low mileage 2010 XKR that seems to be well under market pricing. I've got a convertible and looking for a coupe or I'd seriously be taking a look at it. It's still tempting.

I give serious DOUBT that this car with 19,600 miles is a "real" ad. Priced at $39,600. It's a give away price. It's hard to give any credibility to ads like these on Craigslist.

I highly doubt that's real. It looks to be at a dealership. And if it was, their name and phone number would be all over that ad.

You guys may be right. Since it had a new Mercedes paper plate and appears to be photographed at a dealer (you can see service dept. in background), I looked at all of the inventories of the closest Mercedes dealerships in the area. No XKR's in any of them. The old adage comes to mind, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

But what a fun puzzler! The link here: http://www.mercedesbenzofchandler.co...&_makef=jaguar

Is the only Jaguar that Mercedes of Chandler, AZ currently has in inventory. Although you can't make out the word "Chandler" clearly from the Craig's list pics, you can see the three trees in one of the Craig's list pics are identical to the three trees in one of the legit pics. This confirms the pics came from their website sometime in the past.

Myth busted!!

I was almost sucked into a similar scam a few years ago. It was also a Jaguar that was noticeably underpriced on Cars.com. It looked suspicious and I sent an email inquiry and deduced that it was a scam.

You guys beat me to it but I used to live in Casa Grande, there are NO Mercedes dealers there and its definitely a Mercedes dealer. There is however a beautiful dark grey (don't know all the color names for these) one that a snow bird owns and drives everywhere in the winter. Tried to coax him into a open road stop light to stop light run when I had my 2000 XKR, LOL. He didn't bit and I would have lost, LOL.

The Mercedes dealership in question is in Chandler, Az, not Casa Grande. I'm thinking that perhaps this is where the car was for sale at some point, but not now. They don't have this car listed in their current used inventory. In any event, as my dear old father used to say, if it smells like *****, don't step in it.

Yes, the Craigslist ad is a scam. I have seen this many times in the past, where a Craigslist scammer will take a photo of a car that was previously up for sale, then list it on Craigslist, simply looking for a "down payment/deposit" of $500 to $1000. They request that the deposit be sent Western Union or wired to a bank account. They get the deposit and you never hear from them again.

With this car, I contacted the Craigslist ad address, but never heard back from them. This also has happened on eBay on occassion. Buyer beware.

There is no Mercedes dealer located in the Casa Grande area nor at the location mentioned in the Craigslist ad. Craigslist is well known here in the USA for scammer and fraudulent ads. The car was originally sold at the Mercedes dealer in Chandler Az which I believe is owned by the Chapman Automotive Group, a large chain of various brand dealerships throughout Arizona.

My 2014 Porsche Cayman 981 came from their dealership in Tucson. They are "rea", l while the Craigslist was not.

Default Looking for convertible top technician in Phoenix area

Considering a 2007 XK purchase out of Phoenix and has convertible top issue and looking for a tech that can diagnose and correct convertible issue. I live in out of state and would need it repaired before sending to Texas. Dates in this thread are a bit dated, looking for recent update. Thanks in advance for the help!
