Default Battery replacement - RESOLVED

I'm at a loss, currently have a new battery to install but I can't find a way to loosen and remove the cross bar/curtain in my convertible...which will give me access to the battery.
I must be really getting dense, have read 'remove four bolts' and then remove bar. The 4 bolts I removed are part of the plastic slide for the curtain...are there four more somewhere?
The bar and curtain are tight and I don't want to break anything.

You have to remove the bar that holds the roof cover by twisting. Described in the owners manual
The 4 bolts are plastic headed and are hand tight and are on the vertical ‘back’ of the trunk/boot.
Use a torch once the cross bar is removed and they are obvious.

thank you. It looks like the past mechanics somehow forced and distorted the plastic...I had to tap it pretty hard to dislodge it and then it would twist out.
I'm really having a tough time with this battery removal. I loosened the 2 nuts on the side holder (but they were cross threaded so I actually removed the entire studs) and the battery is still tight. The portion of metal facing the rear of the car, where the cables are attached, is holding it in place. I removed two t40 screws which I though secured it in place but the bracket still does not move. I'm really missing something simple here.
I believe the cable tie downs are floating/not attached to the chassis.
HELP!

Can't help you on the bolt issues but on my 2012 didn't need to remove the bar, was able to get the hardware off and lift the battery over the bar. Would have been easier though if I had! Also, good trick to use, grab a board, place over the spare tire well and use as a slide to pull the old battery out and put the new battery back in place. I used two short pieces of 2x4 side by side for that purpose from a suggestion in another thread and was very happy I did.

for anyone interested, by removing the two bottom nuts one can relocate the metal bracket, making the battery install easier.

I never remove the bar and always remove the plate with 2 screws at the front of the battery. Comes right out.

The procedure is covered in the service manual (p. 2170 in the 5.0L version), and includes removing that plate, as well as torque settings for re-installing the nuts.

looking at my photo, the face, side that has the battery name is my front. The side where the aluminum hold down is the side. Having defined my understanding , the front plate has two t10 screws and 2 m10 nuts which, when removed allow the plate to be lowered.
My 73 yo body is not as strong as years gone by and with both the front and side brackets removed I could literally slide the battery out. Lifting it deep in the trunk is nothing my back really wants to try anylonger. Sliding works best for me.
