As far as I know, there are only three automotive battery manufacturers remaining in North America: Clarios (formerly the battery division of Johnson Controls), East Penn, and Exide. Among them, they make most of the batteries branded Interstate, DieHard, Everlast, Legend, Everstart, Super Start, Optima, Bosch, ACDelco, Motorcraft, Mopar, Honda, Toyota, etc.
If you find an AGM battery marked "Made in Germany," it may be made by Varta (now owned by Clarios). Varta has been an OEM to Jaguar for many years.
Exide manufactures some Jaguar batteries. The Jaguar batteries labeled Interstate may be made by Exide or Clarios/Varta.
Cheers,
Don

I just went through this process.
engine warning light on, lots if random electronuc fault codes.
codes.current battery was installed 06 2016. So we got 8.5 years. It was on a CTEK tender the while time.
HOWEVER, Changed the battery for interstate AGM. Switched the batteries myself and kept 12v constant supply on the car. Seems to have retained its memories however I have a NO CRANK situation.
car acts like it's trying to start but drains the battery in a couple of attempts.
battery recharges in a few hours then rinse repeat.
Anyone any ideas before I call the flatbed in? And send to Jaguar specialist.

Try taking off the battery, and touching the positive and negative leads together. This hard resets a bunch of modules. DON'T have a power supply running to the Jag when you do this though. Did you originally try to have a constant power source to the car so you could avoid losing some settings?

I've got a damaged key and that all needs reprogramming so it has to go to a specialist. Id prefer to drive it in though.

Maintaining power while replacing the battery probably fried the Battery Monitoring System module and maybe worse. You didn't follow the proper procedure:
Actually, Interstate is just a brand name of a battery marketing company. Interstate does not manufacture batteries.

Good information. So, the Jaguar branded batter in my XK, that has Interstate on it, was likely my by Exide…. Cool.
I had the Firestone service center in Yorba Linda, CA install a new DieHard AGM yesterday for $329.68 out the door. Before doing the work they tested the battery I had installed 6 years and told me it tested OK. I told them to install the new one. I was highly notified by a recent battery failure in our 2019 Avalon while in a busy Trader Joe's parking lot. Lot's of angry shoppers dodging the AAA truck!
BTW, the XK is showing "Service required," as it has been showing for some time. Jeff Wilson, at my previous shop, said it was just because he forgot to reset is at the last service, and I never bothered to take it back. I have a OBD device so I suppose I could to reset it myself.
While wrestling with my battery issue, I ran across a very helpful YouTube page, EJ's Garage. He gives us a short, humorous video that shows exactly how to replace the battery in an XK/XKR. Just Google "EJ's Garage".
Thanks for all here who chimed in to my thread.

..... and me for thirteen. The more you do it, the easier it gets.
Yep, done it a few times myself, failed plenty of times!
What they never tell you is that you have about 5 seconds to complete the entire sequence otherwise you lose, so I printed it out then sat in the car reading the print out and trying to memorise it before I had a bash at it. Failed the first few times but eventually got it.

Just charge it, or take it to a place that does charge batteries. 24 hours on a decent CHARGER and not a trickle or maintainer should get it up where it should be at.
