First time I have noticed this but here is a pic of a 2014 XKR the boot doesn't have the runners on the floor board. Was that a year model change or an option to get with or without? Also attached a pic of what I thought was standard with the runners.
My '10 has the runners, but I've no idea if it was ordered special that way or not.
Yes my '10 has them as well... I don't think I have ever seen one without runners until I saw the '14 that I posted a pic of... That's why I was wondering if the later models didn't have runners or was it an option that you could choose when buying new?
This has me wondering how the runners are attached.
Perhaps they were taken off?
Has small bolts and nuts that hold them on... So you maybe right, the ones in the pic might have been removed and you can’t see the holes because of the carpet...
I believe 2013+ (possibly 2014) model years ditched the runners. I think they are a nice touch although I cover my boot floor with the Jaguar Loadspace Liner (C2P2457). https://www.suburbanautoparts.com/oe...4aAladEALw_wcB

I would really like to get this liner but for some reason website says it doesn't fit a 2014. Does anyone know why that would be? Anyone use a different option? Thanks.

Reason: clarity
The runners were deleted when Jaguar eventually realised cases just slide around on them when the vehicle is moving. My 2007 had them - my 2014 doesn't.
I got the optional carpet liner (P/N 22021) for my 2007 XK and moved it to the 2014 when I changed cars.
It's thick carpet with a substantial rubber backing. List was 65 UKP five years ago.
