Door window switch panel
Hi everyone, just joined the group today, hoping I could get some answers, and because since getting the XKR last week, the car is now taking over all of my thoughts (in a good way haha)
The car is generally in good condition, but has various things that needs a bit of attention, and hoping to eventually getting it as pretty as it should be!!! One of the first little things that bothers me is the right passenger door window switch trim/bezel/panel (not sure what the exact name is), which is loose. One of the previous owners must have tried to remove it and snapped one of the clips.
I've been trying to search through the forum and the net for a replacement part, but unsuccessful so far. The rare ones I've spotted one various websites, have been all listed as out of stock. So I was wondering if anyone knew a place where these could be bought or if someone has a spare to sell?
I've managed to find the part number C2P3549LJX and is grey in colour (i believe tungsten to be exact). I suppose I could glue it or tape it, but seems wrong to do such thing on such a car. Kind of OCD about it and wish to have a proper replacement for it.
Thanks

Welcome! If you are looking for assistance, it would be helpful to those trying to aid you if they knew your whereabouts. As an example, if you are in the USA you might try a dismantler like Pacific Auto Parts located in the Detroit area or Jaguar Heaven located in SoCal. Alternatively check with SNG Barrett who you can find in the vendor section of the marketplace part of the Forum. Good hunting!
Welcome Schect
Since you're in the UK, try a main dealer first, mine gives me 10% of parts as have a discount card, the only alternative s to try jag breakers

Cheers for the advice.
I have found a couple leads, asking people that are selling XKRs for parts. Waiting to hear back from them, hopefully in good condition ! Never thought about asking the main dealers, as I've always assumed them to be overpriced (as all other brands). But worth a try.
Thanks

Agreed Graham, same as when I buy anything 'pre-owned' on Ebay, I'll never pay more than half the price I can buy new. But you first have to find out the price new
But there are some that think they'll get ripped off at main dealer...now Audi dealers perhaps deserve the reputation!

My Bentley Continental R was built by an English company based in Crewe. Parts were very expensive. By the time I came to change it for a Bentley Continental GT, the company was still in Crewe but had been taken over by VW Audi. Parts costs became unbelievable. One example - the windscreen wipers failed on a fast, wet drive north through France. A rubber bush on the drive arm had failed. Not surprisingly the bush wasn't available separately but the cost of a new wiper motor at over 1100 UKP (yes - eleven hundred) was beyond belief.

Try this link a couple of pages below as it mentions places where you can get new ones .

Saw this post when looking for advice, and wondering if anyone else had similar issues or can give advice. I can't seem to remove the trim off my door window switches for wrapping. I've tried the instructions from Jaguar's trim removal instructions, but just can't get them loose. Pushing down and pulling backwards just doesn't do it and it seems they're firmly fixed in place. Has anyone else overcome the same issue?
Many thanks,
Justin
