Default DRL 2010 bumper!

Been fiddling a bit with my new bumper and mounted some leds, they are very bright. I had to drill the grills so they could fit but if I ever take'm off I don't think you notice the slightly larger holes in the grill. Could only fit 4 leds because of the shape of the grill, I would have to make a larger hole for the 5th but I didn't want to do that. Bought the leds from Ali. Will connect them to the front foglights so don't need to rewire!

Now only need to test mount the bumper before paint!

The link doesn't work on my laptop but after a bit of fiddling this seems to be what it was trying to link to:

Finally it's time to fire up the Jag! New bumper is fitted with my DRL's!:-)

DRL on

DRL off

They shine nice and bright even though it doesn't show in the pic but my headlights are also on and they are not bright either in the pic.

Cool, man.
Many years ago I did the CCFL ring thing around my front Growler. It's still there, still works, but I have it hooked to the running lights.

Cool with the led growler. :-)
I'll get some pics later this week when it's darker out.

PeterV8,
This is something I've wanted to do to my 2010 XKR for a long time. As I've gotten older, my peripheral vision has become terrible and whereas on my 2002 X100 XKR there are fog lamps which light up the sides at night for me, the 2010 does not have fog lamps, so it requires running new wiring to the grills. You've inspired me to try and get it done while I can still see anything.
Thanks.

While I am changing my bumper cover, and waiting for parts, I think I am going to copy you. Did you source a connector for the lamp end or just cut and splice wires.
Thank you for the idea.

I cut the connector off and used 4 of these..:-)
Each led has a positive and a negative cable so 8 cables of each side.

The Leds I bought from Aliexpress and will probably break more frequently so with that connector I can pretty easy change a led when one breaks!:-)

Great idea with the connector but I have to question corrosion issues. Is it waterproof, or how did you address moisture issues?
More parts are on order.

Mine is always garaged and avoid rainy days. The little I drive in the rain will be no problem as they are protected against direct water behind the bumper.

Time will tell! :-)
