Default Finally got my Jag

Its been a long search but I found my car and the price was right. 2007 XKR w/ 48000 miles. I just got home from Afghanistan 3 weeks ago today and while deployed I spent a lot of time looking for my next car but the long search paid off. I flew from NC to Utah on Wednesday, bought the car and headed back to NC. 2400 miles and 3 days later I am home with my new baby. I absolutely love everything about this car, the design, interior, performance, and every where I stopped somebody said something to me about it. Hope to take it to the track next sunday and see what it does in the 1/4.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, I'll post better ones later.

I looked at this car long and hard and was actually booked to fly out on a Monday to go look at it but found one here in town that was a little more than I wanted to spend but it was an 08 with only 37k miles and I fell in love the moment I saw it.

From the many conversations I had with the salesman about the Utah car it sounded like a really clean car. Congrats on your purchase!!

Looks like it might be Stratus Grey, like mine.

Nice motor - hope you get as much fun from it as I have from mine. And don't just fire it down the strip; take it to a circuit too. For a big car, the XKR is pretty 'chuckable'.

Thank you all for the comments.
The car is pretty clean. There are a few minor scratches here and there but nothing major. Looks great compared to the one I looked at in Fuquay, NC last week. Scratches everywhere, headlights were oxidized, obvious accident damage on the left rear bumper, broken antenna, deep scuff marks on front right fender from hitting something, idled very rough, etc... and they wouldn't budge on the price. I'm really glad I waited and got this one. Its hard not to be impulsive when looking at these beautiful cars.

I love this forum, tons of great info and seems like a friendly place to be. Look forward to spending a lot of time here!

Thank you all for the support! You're too kind!

Like I said I love this car! It is dark grey, not sure what the official color is called but I like it. First thing I did was wash it, then I pulled fuse 19 to make it a little louder. Next up will be clay bar and a few coats of wax.

Agree with the clay bar, then consider Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating........then wax it, using Meguiars Tech Wax spray or paste. Apply the Black Label Diamond Paint Coating with applicators.

You will be amazed at the results.

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating | eBay

Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2 0 Lowest Price on eBay | eBay

Meguiars W0004 Hi Tech Finesse Foam Applicator Pads 4pk | eBay

Final polish and hand buff using:

Meguiars Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel X2020 3Pack | eBay

All of the above can be found locally at Automotive stores, except the Black Label Diamond Paint Coating which needs to be ordered on-line.

Use these products and you will NOT be disappointed.

Paint Coating application wil last for up to 3 years.

Hope this suggestion helps.

I don't generally like dark wheels, but they look great on your car. Enjoy!

Sweet! My next car in a couple years will be a 2010+ XKR.

Spent most of my time in Leatherneck, hopefully my last time in that country. What did you do there?
